Huons has fully initiated the patient recruitment phase for its Phase 2 clinical trial of "HUC1-394," a peptide-based novel drug candidate for dry eye disease, following the completion of trial setups.

- "Huons announced on the 3rd of Jul that it has successfully achieved First Patient In (FPI) for the Phase 2 clinical study of HUC1-394...This Multi-center, Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled trial will evaluate the safety and efficacy of HUC1-394 in 150 patients with dry eye disease across leading medical centers in South Korea, including Severance Hospital of Yonsei University College of Medicine...Huons targets Last Patient Last Visit (LPLV) by the second half of next year, with the subsequent publication of the Clinical Study Report (CSR). Upon securing positive safety and efficacy data in Phase 2, the company plans to immediately commence preparations for a Phase 3 pivotal study."

On March 12, Huons announced that it had received approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the previous day (March 11) for the Phase 2 clinical trial plan (IND) of 'HUC1-394', a new drug candidate for the treatment of dry eye disease

- "With this Phase 2 clinical trial approval, Huons will conduct the study at major medical institutions, including Severance Hospital of Yonsei University College of Medicine, administering the trial to 150 patients with dry eye disease. The trial will be conducted using a multi-center, randomized, double-masked (RCT) design to confirm the safety and efficacy of HUC1-394 and to explore the optimal dosage regimen."
