Correlation between the optical density ratio of subretinal fluid in OCT images and visual outcome in eyes with diabetic MacularEdema.
(PubMed, Graefes Arch Clin Exp Ophthalmol)
- "In DME patients with SRD, patients with a lower baseline subretinal fluid ODR had better visual quality recovery after the anti-VEGF drug or steroid hormone treatment, identifying the optical density in subretinal fluid as a clinically relevant biomarker in diabetic macularedema."

Dexamethasone intravitreal implant (Ozurdex) monotherapy for uveitic macular edema secondary to non-infectious uveitis: a single-center retrospective cohort study.
(PubMed, Int Ophthalmol)
- "In this selected real-world cohort, dexamethasone implant monotherapy was associated with significant anatomical improvement and early functional improvement, with high 12 month follow-up completeness. The initial implant provided a clinically useful but time-limited treatment effect, and repeat implantation was required in a subset of eyes. These findings support dexamethasone implant as a local treatment strategy for selected patients with uveitic macular edema while emphasizing the need for monitoring of ocular steroid-related adverse effects and individualized long-term inflammatory management."

Dexamethasone Implant in Epiretinal Membrane Surgery: A Clinically Oriented Narrative Review of Current Evidence, Biomarkers and Patient Selection.
(PubMed, J Clin Med)
- "Moreover, while current evidence suggests that DEX implantation may accelerate anatomical recovery and improve postoperative inflammatory control in selected patients, long-term functional superiority over PPV alone, including sustained BCVA improvement and patient-reported visual outcomes such as metamorphopsia, remains unproven. Larger prospective randomized studies are needed to better define optimal patient selection and treatment timing."

Twelve‑month Response and Safety of Intravitreal Dexamethasone Implant in Treatment‑Naïve and Recalcitrant Cystoid Macular Edema Secondary to Branch Retinal Vein Occlusion (TREAT-BRVO Study).
(PubMed, Clin Ophthalmol)
- "To compare anatomical and visual outcomes following dexamethasone intravitreal implant (Ozurdex) in treatment-naive versus recalcitrant cystoid macular edema (CME) secondary to branch retinal vein occlusion (BRVO). Intravitreal dexamethasone implant was associated with significant anatomical and functional improvements in both treatment-naïve and anti-VEGF refractory BRVO-related CME. While no statistically significant differences were identified between the groups, adequately powered prospective studies are required to determine whether treatment outcomes differ according to prior anti-VEGF exposure."

Intraocular Pressure Elevation After Suprachoroidal Triamcinolone Acetonide in Noninfectious Uveitis: An IRIS® Registry Study.
(PubMed, Ophthalmol Glaucoma)
- "In this large real-world cohort of patients with NIU, both SCS-TA and DEX were associated with higher risks of clinically significant IOP elevation compared with systemic therapy controls, with broadly similar incidence between the two CS delivery approaches. Although IOP-lowering medications were more frequently required, the overall incidence of glaucoma surgery remained low."
