Mouse Vocal Fold Permeability In Vivo: Effects of Novel Low-Tech Injury and Instillation Methods.
(PubMed, Laryngoscope)

Inherent permeability of mouse VFs may facilitate targeted genetic engineering approaches and studies of environmental hazards and drug treatments."

Flexible endoscopic treatment of internal hemorrhoids with versus without intravenous anesthesia: a retrospective study of 559 cases.
(PubMed, Surg Endosc)
- "Flexible endoscopic treatment for internal hemorrhoids is safe and effective regardless of anesthesia use. Intravenous anesthesia improves procedural efficiency and reduces retreatment rates without compromising symptom relief or satisfaction. These findings support individualized anesthesia strategies tailored to patient preferences and institutional resources."

Sclerotherapy with Polidocanol for Head and Neck Vascular Anomalies: A Single-Center Experience.
(PubMed, Ann Vasc Surg)
- "Polidocanol sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment option for low-flow vascular malformations of the head and neck, with substantial lesion volume reduction and minimal complications. Its efficacy in haemangiomas highlights a promising therapeutic avenue where limited prior evidence exists. Given its favorable safety profile compared to ethanol and other sclerosants, polidocanol should be considered particularly suitable for cosmetically and functionally sensitive head and neck lesions."

Restoration of in vivo CFTR function by tracheal basal cell engraftment
(NACFC 2025)
- " Primary mouse basal cells were isolated and expanded from fresh tracheas and subsequently transplanted into CFTR−/− mice (B6.129P2-KOCftrtm1Unc) or littermate controls (n = 18 each) via aspiration of 1) polidocanol for preconditioning then 2) fluorescently labeled basal cells... Cell replacement can restore normal CFTR expression and function in the trachea of CFTR−/− mice and holds significant potential for a future variant-agnostic therapy for all individuals with CF."

Targeted pre-conditioning and cell transplantation in the murine lower respiratory tract
(NACFC 2025)
- "Our group has successfully transplanted mouse primary or pluripotent stem cell (PSC)-derived basal cells into the tracheas of syngeneic recipient mice post-polidocanol (PDOC) injury... We find evidence of engraftment of primary tracheal BCs throughout the intrapulmonary airways but also within the alveolar space. This finding highlights the need for robust translational, pre-clinical models for cellular therapeutics within the lung to pair pre-conditioning and donor cell type for engraftment into the intended niche while minimizing off target injury or engraftment."

Efficacy, Safety and Predictive Factors for Outcomes and Adverse Events in Sclerotherapy for Venous Malformations in Children.
(PubMed, J Pediatr Surg)
- "Polidocanol-based sclerotherapy is an effective and safe treatment option for pediatric VMs. Complications are more common in VMs of the extremities due to higher mobility and hypostatic pressure. Notably, despite therapeutic size reduction is often limited, clinical improvement, such as pain relief, can often be achieved, which needs to be considered for treatment planning."

Case Report: A case of giant emphysematous bullae successfully treated with percutaneous aspiration and sclerotherapy for staged reduction of pulmonary bullae.
(PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne))
- "This report describes a 70-year-old man with COPD GOLD 3 and bilateral GEB (dominant bulla 8.5 cm× 6.2 cm) who underwent a novel percutaneous serial sclerotherapy protocol: Under CT guidance, a puncture needle was inserted into the bulla cavity on 3 consecutive days, with daily instillation of polidocanol (total 30 mL) and attempted air aspiration (successfully retrieving 1,000 mL of gas on day 3)...A follow-up CT scan at 3 months demonstrated>70% bullae volume reduction with lung re-expansion, correlating with significant clinical improvement. This first-reported percutaneous aspiration and sclerotherapy for staged reduction of pulmonary bullae (PASS) approach offers a safe, effective, minimally invasive option for GEB management in surgically high-risk COPD patients, warranting further validation of the protocol."

Grover's disease successfully treated with dupilumab
(EADV 2025)
- "We initially treated the patient systemically with isotretinoin and topically with calcineurin inhibitors and polidocanol for five months without any improvement. Several months of treatment with pregabalin were also unsuccessful... The successful treatment of Grover's disease with the IL-4/IL-13 antagonist dupilumab suggests that type 2 inflammation plays a role in the pathogenesis of Grover's disease. Dupilumab could therefore represent a very safe treatment alternative with little side effects for therapy-refractory Grover's disease. Further studies are needed to substantiate this hypothesis."

Sclerotherapy: A novel approach for recurrent pyogenic granuloma in a 5-year-old child
(EADV 2025)
- "After obtaining consent from the patient's legal guardian, a topical anesthetic cream using Lidocaine 2.5%/Prilocaine2.5% was applied one-hour prior sclerotherapy to reduce the anticipated local injection site pain. As only few published studies on the use of sclerotherapy for the treatment of pyogenic granuloma in children, there is a need to explore this treatment modality. In this case report, sclerotherapy with polidocanol is found to be safe, feasible and cost-effective. Long-term follow-up however is recommended to monitor for delayed side effects and to identify potential recurrences or complications."
