Analgesic Effect of Blood-Derived Recombinant hiPSC Chromaffin Cells in a Chronic Pain Model in Rats (IASP 2024) - "6SHG and 6SHGEM1rRecombinant cells showed higher analgesic potency compared to the nonrecombinant cohorts, including cells lines from older donors... Blood-derived hiPSCs of various backgrounds can be differentiated to >70% chromaffin-like cells producing catecholamines indicating good consistency and potential generalizability of the differentiation protocol for future autologously derived cells for transplantation. A possible exception may be blood-derived hiPSCs from elderly donors. hCCs transplanted in the lumbar spinal subarachnoid space attenuated pain-related symptoms following spinal cord injury."

CYSTATIN C AS A PREDICTOR DEVELOPMENT OF CEREBROVASCULAR COMPLICATIONS IN PATIENTS WITH CKD (WCN 2023) - "During the study, the following cerebral complications developed in hemodialysis patients: uremic encephalopathy in 10 (33.3%), hypertensive encephalopathy in 10 (33.3%), TIA (transient ischemic attack); 5 (16.6%), ischemic stroke (IS) 3 (10%), and gemorragik stroke(GS) in 2 (6.6%) cases... Patients with encephalopathies had a significantly lower level of cystatin C in serum, while in patients with TIA and IS this indicator is higher, the highest indicator was in patients with GS.These data indicate that cystatin C is not only a biomarker of kidney damage, but also in acute brain damage, its content also increases dramatically.Based on this, it can be assumed that cystatin C is a predictor of predicting acute cerebrovascular complications in patients with CKD"

Air pollution and the impacts on health in the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte in the State of Minas Gerais, Brazil (PubMed, Cien Saude Colet) - "In Contagem RR% = 1.23 (CI 95%: 0.32-2.15) and RR% = 1.61 (CI 95%: 0.26-2.96) was observed for DRT and DRC, respectively...Respiratory diseases were the outcome most frequently related to air pollutants investigated. These results can be useful in discussions on emission control policies in the region."
