Evaluation of microbial-induced calcite precipitation performance for soil surface improvement and toxicity assessment of the biostabilizer.
(PubMed, Heliyon)
- "Ocular administration of a 0.1 mL drop did not induce eye irritation in rabbits. In conclusion, the use of the biostabilizer for wind erosion control appears to be technically and environmentally feasible and justifiable."

N(ϵ) -Carboxymethyllysine Increases the Expression of miR-103/143 and Enhances Lipid Accumulation in 3T3-L1 Cells.
- "Short term treatment of mature 3T3-L1 adipocytes with CML resulted in decreased basal glucose uptake. These results indicate that the addition of protein-free CML to 3T3-L1 cells influence parameters associated with adipogenesis and glucose homeostasis at transcriptional and functional level; this indicates that free CML derived from exogenous sources, in addition to protein-bound CML may be relevant in this context."

Four PTEN-targeting co-expressed miRNAs and ACTN4-targeting miR-548b are independent prognostic biomarkers in human squamous cell carcinoma of the oral tongue.
(PubMed, Int J Cancer)
- "Bioinformatics analysis identified PTEN and ACTN4 as direct targets of the four co-expressed miRNAs and miR-548b, respectively. Correlations between the five identified miRNAs and their respective targeted genes were validated in the two merged cohorts and were concordantly significant (miR-18a/PTEN: p < 0.0001; miR-92a/PTEN: p = 0.0008; miR-103/PTEN: p = 0.008; miR-203/PTEN: p = 0.019; miR-548b/ACTN4: p = 0.009)."

Reverse Expression of Aging-Associated Molecules through Transfection of miRNAs to Aged Mice.

Mol Ther Nucleic Acids
- "...Among 27 miRNAs, six were predicted to be involved in NAFLD, miR-16-5p, miR-17-5p, miR-21a-5p, miR-30c-5p, miR-103-3p, and miR-130a-3p; alterations in their blood and liver levels were confirmed by real-time qPCR...These miRNAs could be non-invasive biomarkers for aging, and they might induce a reverse regulation of aging-associated pathways. This study provides preliminary data on reverse aging, which could be applied further for treatments of adult diseases."

Interaction between inflammatory mediators and miRNAs in Helicobacter pylori infection.

- "Deregulated miRNA-mRNA interaction networks were observed in the Hp + group before and after eradication. Therefore, miRNAs modulated cytokines expression in the presence of H. pylori and after its eradication, suggesting that miRNAs participate in the pathological process triggered by H. pylori in the gastric mucosa."

Potential Role of Lipometabolism-Related MicroRNAs in Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells as Biomarkers for Coronary Artery Disease.
(PubMed)
- "The increased expression levels of miR-24, miR-33a, miR-103a, and miR-122 in PBMCs are associated with risk of CAD. A panel of the four miRNAs has considerable clinical value in diagnosing stable CAD."

Five miRNAs Considered as Molecular Targets for Predicting Esophageal Cancer.
(PubMed)
- "CONCLUSIONS The crucial molecular targets such as p53 may provide great clinical value in treatment, as well to provide new ideas for esophageal cancer therapy. The target genes of miRNA were found to play key roles in protein phosphorylation, and the functions of the target genes during protein phosphorylation should be further studied to explore novel treatment of EC."

Molecular mechanisms underlying gliomas and glioblastoma pathogenesis revealed by bioinformatics analysis of microarray data.
(PubMed, Med Oncol)
- "...MicroRNA hsa-mir-22-3p had a regulatory effect on the most up DEGs, including VSNL1, while hsa-mir-103a-3p had a regulatory effect on the most down DEGs, including DAPK1. Transcription factor EZH2 had a regulatory effect on the both up and down DEGs, including CD9, CHI3L1, MEIS2 and NR2E1. The DEGs, such as MYC, FGFR1, CDKN2A, HOXA10 and MET, may be used for targeted diagnosis and treatment of gliomas and glioblastoma."

Identification of A Panel of Serum microRNAs as Biomarkers for Early Detection of Lung Adenocarcinoma.
(PubMed)

J Cancer
- "Among them, 6 selected miRNAs in AD patients, including miR-103, miR-146a, miR-151, miR-21, miR-221, miR-222, and miR-223, were validated by RT-qPCR. In particular, the top three, miR-146a, miR-222, and miR-223, were confirmed to be significantly expressed in stage I/II AD patients compared with healthy controls. A panel of miRNAs with miR-146a, miR-222 and miR-223 could be used as potential noninvasive biomarkers for early detection of AD."
