A novel agricultural commodity price prediction model integrating deep learning and enhanced swarm intelligence algorithm.
(PubMed, PLoS One)
- "Using historical data from corn and wheat markets as case studies, the experimental findings demonstrate that the proposed SVMD-MSDBO-CNN-BiLSTM-A model significantly outperforms nine baseline approaches. Specifically, it reduces the Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) by 25.78% and 37.57%, respectively, and enhances directional accuracy (Dstat) by 1.15% and 14.53% compared to the top single models."

Antiangiogenic Activity of 6-O-Desulfated Modified Heparin: Suppression of Choroidal Neovascularization.
(PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
- "We explored the therapeutic potential of 6-O-desulfated heparin (Hep-6Od) as an antiangiogenic agent with diminished anticoagulant activity...These findings support Hep-6Od as a promising alternative to anti-vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) therapies for AMD treatment, potentially expanding current retinal vascular disease interventions. The results underscore its potential to transform AMD management, pending further clinical validation and awaiting confirmation in further studies."

Expanding the Role of Heparin Derivatives in Oncology: From Anticoagulation to Antitumor Activity.
(PubMed, Pharmaceuticals (Basel))
- "Analysis of the glycosaminoglycan analog dociparstat sodium reveals significant activity in myeloid malignancies, mediated by specific interference with CXCL12/CXCR4 signaling cascades. Significant challenges remain in manufacturing scale-up, analytical validation, and long-term safety assessment. Future studies must address dose optimization, combination strategies, and controlled clinical trials to determine the full therapeutic potential of these compounds in clinical oncology."

Selection with two alleles of X-linkage and its application to the fitness component analysis of OdsH in Drosophila.
(PubMed, G3 (Bethesda))
- "Using maximum likelihood estimation (MLE), we determined the fitness components associated with the OdsH alleles in males and females. Our analysis revealed functional aspects of the fitness determinants associated with OdsH, and that sex-specific fertility and viability consequences both contribute to selection on an X-linked gene."

Survival of patients with early-stage cervical cancer after sentinel lymph node biopsy without systematic pelvic lymphadenectomy: Primary endpoint outcome of the SENTIX prospective, single-arm, international trial (CEEGOG CX-01; ENGOT-CX2)
(SGO 2024)
- "The study fulfilled the primary endpoint which was recurrence rate (RR) at 24th months of follow-up and confirmed the null hypothesis that the RR, being 6.06%, after SLN biopsy is non-inferior to the reference recurrence rate of 7% in patients after PLND. In early-stage cervical cancer patients, SLN biopsy with pathological ultrastaging is safe and accurate method to detect lymph node metastases."

Tumour Size Assessment In Patients With Early-Stage Cervical Cancer And Its Impact On A Tailored Management: Final Results Of A Prospective, International Multicenter Study SENTIX (CEEGOG CX-01; ENGOT-CX2)
(ESGO 2024)
- P | "Conclusion The study highlights, that even with the use of modern imaging in preoperative staging, inaccuracy in tumour measurement is a frequent reason for incorrect stage assessment, and consequently for scheduling of inadequate surgery. International guidelines should specify acceptable deviations in tumour size assessment and the threshold for adjuvant treatment for patients who received insufficient radicality of surgery."

Survival Of Patients With Early Stages Cervical Cancer After SLN Biopsy Without Systematic Pelvic Lymphadenectomy: Survival Outcomes Of The SENTIX Prospective Single-Arm International Trial (CEEGOG CX-01; ENGOT-CX2)
(ESGO 2024)
- P | "Conclusion The study showed that 2-year DFS and OS in patients after SLN biopsy is excellent and comparable to patients after PLND, reported in the recent prospective trials. In early-stage cervical cancer patients, SLN biopsy with pathological ultrastaging and no further lymphadenectomy is not associated with increased risk of recurrence."

A comprehensive evolutionary scenario for the origin and neofunctionalization of the Drosophila speciation gene Odysseus (OdsH).
(PubMed, G3 (Bethesda))

Platform-agnostic electrochemical sensing app and companion potentiostat.
(PubMed, Analyst)
- "The versatility of PocketEC, developed with an assay developer mindset, was demonstrated by interfacing it, via Bluetooth, to the ADuCM355 evaluation board, the open-source DStat potentiostat and the Voyager board, a custom-built, small footprint potentiostat based around the LMP91000 chip...Importantly, the versatility of the app makes it a candidate of choice for the development of future portable potentiostats. Finally, the app is available to download on the Google Play store and the source codes and design files for the PocketEC app and the Voyager board are shared via Creative Commons license (CC BY-NC 3.0) to promote the development of novel portable or wearable applications based on electrochemical sensing."
