INCIDENTAL DIAGNOSIS OF FACTOR X DEFICIENCY DURING PREGNANCY: A CASE REPORT
(EAHAD 2023)
- "She did not present clinical or analytical evidence of plasmatic cell dyscrasia or amyloidosis. An urgent caesarean section was performed in her 41 + 4 week due to non-progression of labor, prior administration of Factor X P Behring® (Factor IX and X concentrate) at a dose of 45 units/kg of weight 30 minutes before the procedure, as well as antifibrinolytics. An epidural catheter was not placed because the factor X levels at the time of the cesarean section were not available... Due to the lack of patients affected by factor X deficiency, there are few studies and recommendations for its management, especially in pregnant women. Currently, the use of factor X concentrates, fresh frozen plasma or prothrombin complex is recommended. International registries are necessary to know more about de management and be able to prepare more specific guidelines."
