Our results indicate that both Ube3a-mediated ubiquitination and PKA-induced phosphorylation stimulate SK2 endocytosis, and that PKA and Ube3a synergistically regulate synaptic SK2 levels. The complex interactions between PKA and Ube3a in the regulation of SK2 synaptic levels might provide new tools to for developing new treatments for AS patients as well as various forms of autism."
