Molecular Detection of Theileria annulata among Dairy Cattle and Vector Ticks in the Herat Area, Afghanistan.
(PubMed, Arch Razi Inst)
- "Among the collected ticks, the numbers of male and female ticks were obtained at 219 and 130 ticks, respectively...The PCR results showed that seven pools belonging to salivary glands of H. anatolicum were infected with T. annulata. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that T. annulata had a high frequency in dairy cattle and H. anatoloicum was also identified, such as the vectors of T. annulata in the Herat area, Afghanistan."

[VIRTUAL] PREVALENCE OF ANTI–SARS-CoV-2 ANTIBODIES IN SOUTH AFRICAN BLOOD DONORS
(CROI 2021)
- " Subject to meeting standard blood donor eligibility criteria, and a standing opt-out arrangement for research use of specimens primarily obtained for blood safety screening, unsolicited blood donations, obtained on particular 'collection days' at 219 donation sites in South Africa, during January 2021, were tested for SARS-CoV-2 antibodies using the Roche Cobas e411 platform... These are the first relatively widely representative SARSCoV-2 antibody prevalence estimates from South Africa. Population level representativeness of this methodology warrants further exploration – but it is worth noting that 1) as elsewhere, the obtained antibody prevalence estimates imply SARS-CoV-2 attack rates that are easily an order of magnitude higher than the apparently relatively uninformative official case counts; and 2) the marginal cost of performing this study, over the cost of routine blood bank operations, was almost entirely comprised of the cost of reagents. Cyanides and Isocyanides of Zinc, Cadmium and Mercury: Matrix Infrared Spectra and Electronic Structure Calculations for the Linear MNC, NCMCN, CNMNC, NCMMCN, and CNMMNC Molecules.
(PubMed, Chemphyschem)

Group 12 metals produce shorter M-M bonds in the dimetal cyanides NCM-MCN and isocyanides CNM-MNC than in the M-M itself, and their computed M-M bond lengths compare favorably with those measured for dimetal complexes stabilized by large ring containing molecular ligands."

Enzymolysis of walnut (Juglans regia L.) meal protein: Ultrasonication-assisted alkaline pretreatment impact on kinetics and thermodynamics.
(PubMed, J Food Biochem)
- "The reaction rate coefficient (k) for the proteolysis improved by 84.75%, 52.43%, 48.25%, and 37.79% at 219, 303, 313, and 323 K, correspondingly...PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS: Walnut meal protein has a well-balanced amino acid profile and its economic utilization could be increased practicably as a food ingredient via production of hydrolysates/peptides for the production of improved food ingredients instead of being cast off as animal feed. This study demonstrated a positive bearing of ultrasonication-assisted alkaline pretreatment on proteolytic reaction characteristics and its energy efficiency for walnut meal protein, which makes this technique applicable to the enhancement of plant proteins for inclusion in food products, especially tree nut and oil seed waste products from the oil industry."

The role of ubiquitination in tumorigenesis and targeted drug discovery.
(PubMed, Signal Transduct Target Ther)
- "Among them, small molecule inhibitors targeting the proteasome, such as bortezomib, carfilzomib, oprozomib and ixazomib, have achieved tangible success. In addition, MLN7243 and MLN4924 (targeting the E1 enzyme), Leucettamol A and CC0651 (targeting the E2 enzyme), nutlin and MI-219 (targeting the E3 enzyme), and compounds G5 and F6 (targeting DUB activity) have also shown potential in preclinical cancer treatment. In this review, we summarize the latest progress in understanding the substrates for ubiquitination and their special functions in tumor metabolism regulation, TME modulation and CSC stemness maintenance. Moreover, potential therapeutic targets for cancer are reviewed, as are the therapeutic effects of targeted drugs."

Ternary solid dispersion to improve solubility and dissolution of meloxicam.

- "The melting endotherm of SD3 was detected at 219.5 °C, in which case it originated from NA rather than from MLX, showing that MLX was molecularly dispersed and amorphous. The best result was given by SD3 with an MLX:HPMC:NA ratio of 1:2:1. Based on the characterization study, it is predicted that hydrophilic polymer and hydrogen bonding interactions play important roles in MLX solubility or dissolution rate improvement."

- "...The superweak-anion nature of B12F12(2-) (Y(2-)) was demonstrated by the rapid reaction of microcrystalline Ag2(Y) with 1 atm of CO to form a nonclassical silver(I) carbonyl compound with an FTIR ν(CO) band at 2198 cm(-1) (and with the proposed formula [Ag(CO)n]2[Y])...The third, and most exceptional, manifestation is that the idealized structural reorganization accompanying the conceptual transformations Ag2(CH3CN)8(Y) → Ag2(CH3CN)5(Y) → Ag2(CH3CN)4(Y) involve close-packed layers of Y(2-) anions that sandwich the Ag(CH3CN)4(+) complexes splitting into staggered flat ribbons of interconnected (Y(2-))3 triangles that surround the Ag2(CH3CN)5(2+) complexes on four sides, conceptually re-forming close-packed layers of anions that sandwich the Ag(CH3CN)2(+) complexes. The interconnected (Y(2-))3 triangle lattice of anions in Ag2(CH3CN)5(Y) may be the first example of this structure type."

Continuity in the Arrhenius relations indicates that the same sets of protein groups and interactions mediate the rearrangement over the 295 to 203 K range, but with a repertoire of configurations below 217 K that is restricted, relative the the native configurations accessible above 219 K. The experimental features of a culled reaction step, first-order kinetic measurements, and wide room-to-cryogenic temperature range, allow the direct demonstration and kinetic characterization of protein dynamical contributions to the
