Relationship between perioperative medications and risk of emergence agitation in children after sevoflurane anesthesia: a network meta-analysis. (PubMed, Pediatr Res) - "This review provides a detailed network meta-analysis comparing 19 perioperative medications, offering a ranked efficacy profile (via SUCRA analysis) for preventing emergence agitation (EA) in children after sevoflurane anaesthesia, which consolidates and expands upon previous pairwise comparisons. It identifies dexmedetomidine, propofol, midazolam, fentanyl, nalbuphine, and ketamine as the most effective drugs for EA prevention, supporting evidence-based decision-making in paediatric anaesthesia practice."

Repositioning serotonergic antagonists as therapeutic agents in gastric cancer: induction of apoptosis, inhibition of cell migration, and cell cycle arrest in AGS cells. (PubMed, Cytotechnology) - "Imipramine induced G1/S phase arrest, whereas tropisetron, ketanserin, and cyproheptadine increased the sub-G1 cell population. Gene expression analysis revealed decreased Bcl-2 and PCNA levels and increased Bax expression.These findings suggest the potential of tropisetron, imipramine, ketanserin, and cyproheptadine as repurposed therapeutic agents for gastric cancer."

Postoperative delirium in patients with free flap reconstruction after head and neck tumor surgery: influencing factors for severity and onset time, and a prediction model. Effect of esketamine on postoperative pain relief and depressive status in patients with traumatic fractures. (PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne)) - P=N/A | "All received a standard postoperative analgesic pump (sufentanil 2 μg/kg + tropisetron 10 mg in 100 ml saline, 1.5 ml/h basal rate, 2 ml PCA bolus, 20 min lockout)...The incidence of postoperative nausea/vomiting was significantly lower in groups L and H compared to group C (P < 0.05). Continuous postoperative infusion of esketamine (0.5-0.75 mg/kg over 24 h) in patients with traumatic lower limb fractures effectively alleviates postoperative depressive symptoms, provides opioid-sparing analgesia, reduces opioid-related adverse effects like nausea and vomiting, and is associated with increased BDNF and decreased IL-6 levels."

Palonosetron versus tropisetron with dexamethasone for prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting in pediatric adenotonsillectomy: a single center, randomized controlled trial. Effects of Glycopyrronium Bromide as an Adjuvant Treatment in the Prevention of Nausea and Vomiting After Abdominal, Thyroid, and Breast Surgery: A Multicenter Randomized Controlled Trial.
