Postoperative delirium in patients with free flap reconstruction after head and neck tumor surgery: influencing factors for severity and onset time, and a prediction model.
(PubMed, BMC Oral Health)
- "POD after head and neck tumor surgery shows marked heterogeneity in severity and onset. Neutrophils and platelets may respectively drive neuroinflammation occurrence and progression, synergizing with blood pressure to regulate POD subtyping. Identified factors enable early multidimensional warning. The prediction model performs well with optimal threshold 0.45-0.55."

Effect of esketamine on postoperative pain relief and depressive status in patients with traumatic fractures.
(PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne))
- P=N/A | "All received a standard postoperative analgesic pump (sufentanil 2 μg/kg + tropisetron 10 mg in 100 ml saline, 1.5 ml/h basal rate, 2 ml PCA bolus, 20 min lockout)...The incidence of postoperative nausea/vomiting was significantly lower in groups L and H compared to group C (P < 0.05). Continuous postoperative infusion of esketamine (0.5-0.75 mg/kg over 24 h) in patients with traumatic lower limb fractures effectively alleviates postoperative depressive symptoms, provides opioid-sparing analgesia, reduces opioid-related adverse effects like nausea and vomiting, and is associated with increased BDNF and decreased IL-6 levels."

Antifibrotic Effects of an α7 Nicotinic Acetylcholine Receptor Agonist in Keloid Fibroblasts and a Rat Scar Model.
(PubMed, Int J Mol Sci)
- "These results indicate that tropisetron exerts dual antifibrotic and anti-inflammatory effects through α7nAChR-mediated signaling and enhanced ECM remodeling. This study provides the first evidence supporting α7nAChR activation as a promising therapeutic strategy for managing keloids and other fibrotic skin disorders."

Palonosetron versus tropisetron with dexamethasone for prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting in pediatric adenotonsillectomy: a single center, randomized controlled trial.
(PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne))
- P4 | "After receiving their allocated drug, children received intravenous dexamethasone (0.15 mg/kg, maximum 5 mg) during induction. In pediatric adenotonsillectomy, palonosetron with dexamethasone gives better PONV prevention than tropisetron with dexamethasone, especially in the first 24 h, with comparable safety. https://www.chictr.org.cn/showproj.html?proj=127115, ChiCTR2100046848."

Morbidity and Mortality of Ondansetron in Patients with Non-congenital Long QT Syndrome: A Review Article.
(PubMed, Cardiovasc Drugs Ther)
- "Selective antagonists like ondansetron, granisetron, and tropisetron treat chemotherapy and post-surgical nausea, while non-selective antagonists include metoclopramide and prochlorperazine. This risk has led to FDA dosing recommendations and an emphasis on cardiac monitoring, particularly in patients with predisposing factors such as electrolyte imbalances, cardiac conditions, or concurrent QT-prolonging drugs. This review explores the underlying mechanisms of QT-interval prolongation associated with the selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist ondansetron, evaluates its impact on morbidity and mortality in at-risk populations, and discusses risk mitigation strategies."
