Complete Resolution of Restless Legs Syndrome Symptoms After CPAP Treatment in a Patient with Moderate Obstructive Sleep Apnea: A Case Report
(WSS 2025)
- "Relevant comorbidities included bruxism, obesity (BMI: 30.9), systemic hypertension, and gastroesophageal reflux disease, with regular use of metoprolol and olmesartan... This case highlights a potential link between untreated OSA and secondary RLS symptoms. CPAP therapy not only improved respiratory parameters but also resulted in complete resolution of longstanding RLS symptoms. These findings support the consideration of sleep-disordered breathing as a reversible cause of RLS in select patients and underscore the importance of integrated management in sleep medicine."

Spectrofluorimetric Method for the Assay of Fixed-Dose Combinations Containing Olmesartan: Sustainability Assessment via Novel Relative Ranking NQS Index, GSST, and Whiteness R3GB 12 Model.
(PubMed, Luminescence)
- "This work has adopted the second derivative spectrofluorimetry for assaying OLM with either the β-blocker (Metoprolol, MET) or the cholesterol-lowering drug (Atorvastatin, ATR) in their combined tablets...Implementing them in routine analysis of the studied OLM binary combinations was encouraged by high selectivity, linearity, eco-friendliness, and simplicity. Being economic potentiates their vast application in developing countries."

Green spectrofluorimetric quantification of aspirin, olmesartan, and metoprolol in spiked human plasma.
(PubMed, Sci Rep)
- "Low dose aspirin is routinely taken with antihypertensive drugs such as olmesartan and metoprolol to avoid the cardiovascular and renal outcomes associated with high blood pressure. The suggested approach has been validated using ICH M10 criteria for bioanalytical method validation and was effectively utilized for quantification of tested medications in human plasma with reasonable accuracy and precision findings. Furthermore, using two greenness metrics, the Green Analytical Procedure Index and the Analytical GREEnness, the suggested method obtained a high greenness score."

Area under the curve and ratio difference spectrophotometric methods with evaluation of the greenness for simultaneous determination of olmesartan medoxomil and metoprolol succinate.
(PubMed, Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc)
- "The developed methods were validated according to ICH guidelines. The developed methods are accurate, precise, eco-friendly and could be applied successfully to estimate OLM and MET in their combined dosage form."

Extensive Cutaneous Epithelioid Angiosarcoma on the Scalp and Face
(WCD 2023)
- "OBSERVATIONS: An 89-year-old man with systemic arterial hypertension and a history of acute myocardial infarction, using olmesartan, metoprolol and acetylsalicylic acid, presented with erythematous, scaly extensive plaque on the scalp. Patient has been undergoing chemotherapy with liposomal doxorubicin and docetaxel for a month. KEY MESSAGE: The described case illustrates that an abnormal skin finding in older adults should raise their index of suspicion for angiosarcoma and an early biopsy should be performed"

Dried Urine Spot Analysis for assessing cardiovascular drugs exposure applicable in spaceflight conditions.
(PubMed, J Chromatogr B Analyt Technol Biomed Life Sci)
- "Therefore, we developed an easy sampling method on dried urine spot (DUS), for the simultaneous quantification of 5 antihypertensive drugs in human urine: irbesartan, valsartan, olmesartan, metoprolol and furosemide analyzed by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), considering spaceflight parameters. This method was found to be eligible for space pharmacology studies in terms of practicality, safety, robustness and energy costs. It has been successfully implemented in space tests programs led in 2022."

Development and Validation of SI/RS-UHPLC-PDA Method for Olmesartan Medoxomil and Metoprolol Succinate-Related Substance.
(PubMed, Turk J Pharm Sci)
- "Further, the method is precise, robust, and specific; suitable for routine IPQC during active pharmaceutical ingredient manufacturing, stability and impurity profiling studies of the titled bulk analytes. Furthermore, the method can be extended to assess the levels of impurities formed during life cycle of new FDCs of titled analytes."

Coupling of synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy with derivative amplitude outcomes for simultaneous determination of metoprolol succinate and olmesartan medoxomil in combined pharmaceutical preparation: Application in spiked human plasma.
(PubMed, Spectrochim Acta A Mol Biomol Spectrosc)
- "Limits of quantitation (LOQ) were 99 ng/ml for MET and 44 ng/mL for OLM. So it can be applied to determine both drugs in spiked human plasma within the linearity ranges of 100-1000 ng/mL for OLM and 100-1500 ng/mL for MET."
