Effect of a chondroitin sulfate chain linked to the bikunin core peptide on gene expression in lipopolysaccharide-treated uterine cervical fibroblasts.
(PubMed, Biochem Biophys Rep)
- "Increased expression of genes, related to inflammation or collagen, by LPS was also suppressed by bikunin at the same time point. Ch4S-deficient bikunin did not show significant suppression compared to original bikunin, suggesting that the Ch4S structure of bikunin is important for the suppression of the inflammatory response induced by LPS."

Human Proteoglycan Linkage Region Glycosyltransferases are Dimeric and Show Unexpected Specificities.
(PubMed, Angew Chem Int Ed Engl)
- "The three linkage region glycosyltransferases B4GalT7, B3GalT6 and B3GlcAT-1 were dimeric in solution and the crystal structure of B3GalT6 was solved showing a covalent dimer linked by a disulfide in the center of the large dimerization domain. This motif appears to be conserved in higher organisms and reinforces the concept of dimeric glycosyltransferases lining the Golgi."

Elevation of urinary alpha-1-antitrypsin and transferrin excretion in children of patients with nephrolithiasis.
(PubMed, Asian Biomed (Res Rev News))
- "Increased excretion of these proteins may impact stone formation in these high-risk childhood members by regulation of renal inflammation, oxidation, crystallization, and crystal growth. We propose that AAT and TF excretion rates are potentially used as indicators for urinary supersaturation in high-risk populations."

Molecular Profiling of Renal Function after Liver Transplantation
(ERA 2025)
- P=N/A | "This study revealed distinct metabolomic and proteomic signatures associated with renal function post-LT. Proteomic profiles indicated a delayed recovery compared to metabolomic profiles, suggesting a dynamic and muti-layered renal recovery process. These findings highlight the limitations of relying solely on serum creatinine measurements to assess kidney recovery or ongoing dysfunction in LT recipients."

Urine biomarkers can predict prostate cancer and PI-RADS score prior to biopsy.
