Gas-Sensing Properties and Mechanisms of 3D Networks Composed of ZnO Tetrapod Micro-Nano Structures at Room Temperature.
(PubMed, Materials (Basel))
- "It exhibited good gas-sensing at room temperature, particularly with a response of up to 338.80% toward 1600 ppm ethanol, while also demonstrating remarkable repeatability, stability, and selectivity. Moreover, the unique gas-sensing properties of ZnO-T at room temperature can be reasonably explained by considering the effect of van der Waals forces in physical adsorption and the synergistic effect of carrier concentration and mobility. The aforementioned statement presents an opportunity for the advancement of gas sensors utilizing ZnO at room temperature."

High Frequency Oscillations in a Rat Model of Alzheimer’s Disease
(AES 2022)
- "Funding: This study was supported by the National Institutes of Health, USA, R01-NS033310 (J.E), U54- NS100064 (J.E), University of North Texas Faculty Research Award 1600733 (LL)... Our data demonstrate that epilepsy-like pathological HFOs occur in the AD/seizure rat model, and we hypothesize that the neuronal substrate of epileptogenicity in AD is similar to that described in non-AD models of epilepsy and for patients with mesial temporal lobe epilepsy."

Pharmacists highlighted in Surgeon General smoking cessation report
(APHA)
- "'One of the most striking aspects of the report, compared to prior reports, is the extent of emphasis on pharmacists,' said Karen Hudmon....It's been slow progress, but our profession has made major strides over the past 2 decades to advance our role in tobacco cessation.'...Pharmacists should recommend medications when appropriate, said Hudmon, 'including nonprescription products (the nicotine patch, lozenge, and gum) and prescription products (varenicline, bupropion SR, and the nicotine inhaler and nasal spray).'"

Gap between the fragment and the tibia affects the stability of tibial tubercle osteotomy: A finite element study.
(PubMed, Med Eng Phys)
- "A vertically upward 1600-N force was applied on the tibial tubercle to mimic a worst-case condition...Additionally, among all screw configurations, the configuration involving two parallel downward screws resulted in the highest stability but also the greatest stress on the cortical bone. The fragment obtains a solid barrier and support from the tibia immediately after surgery to against the patellar tension force when the fragment is close to the superior cutting plane of the tibia."

Filter Cassette Method for Analyzing Man-Made Vitreous Fibers Settled on Surfaces.
(PubMed, Int J Environ Res Public Health)
- "...The method was compared to traditional gel tape sampling as described in International Standards Organization (ISO) standard 16000-27, following analysis with phase contrast microscopy...Alternatively, if present guide values or limit values are to be used with the filter cassette method, conventions as to which fiber sizes to count should be set, since SEM analysis in any case will allow for including a larger size range than phase contrast microscopy (PM). We, however, recommend against such an approach, since fibers less than 1 µm in width may not be less harmful by inhalation than larger fibers."
