Rapamycin-sensitive mTORC1 signaling in the medial prefrontal cortex contributes to the antidepressant-like behavioral effects of shikimic acid in mice.
(PubMed, Life Sci)
- "These findings suggest that SA exerts antidepressant-like effects via rapamycin-sensitive mTORC1-dependent mechanisms within the mPFC. Our results support SA as a candidate compound targeting mPFC mTORC1-related signaling for novel rapid-acting antidepressants."

Comparison of folate-conjugated rapamycin versus unconjugated rapamycin in an orthologous mouse model of polycystic kidney disease.
(PubMed, Am J Physiol Renal Physiol)
- "However, FC-rapa lacks the extra-renal effects of unconjugated rapamycin, in particular immunosuppressive effects. We conclude that folate-conjugation is a promising avenue for increasing the tissue specificity of small-molecule compounds to facilitate very long-term treatment in ADPKD."
