SLC7A5 LINKS PSYCHOLOGICAL STRESS TO INTESTINAL MOTILITY CAHNGE (DDW 2025) - "Dexamathasone, norepinephrine, and corresponding inhibitors RU486, 6-hydroxydopamine hydrochloride (6-OHDA) were tested, interestingly, we found dexamathasone injection can mimic the restriant stress, causing decreased serotonin secretion. The study to date indicate that psychological stress drives glucocorticoids level elevation, regulating enteral serotonin release which subsequently affects intestinal motility. In this process, slc7a5 play a critical role in serotonin release under psychological stress."

[VIRTUAL] Trends in Testosterone Prescriptions Amongst Medical Specialties: A 5-year CMS Data Analysis (AUA 2021) - "TRT modalities were consolidated into four categories: Topical (Androderm, Androgel, Axiron, Fortesta, Natesto, Testim), oral (Android, Methitest, Methyltestosterone, Testred, Striant), injection (Aveed, Depo-Testosterone, Testosterone Cypionate, Testosterone Enanthate) and pellet (Testopel)... Although multiple TRT modalities exist, topical and injected are by far the most prescribed amongst this cohort. Topical therapy costs more than injection despite being prescribed less often. The wide variation in modalities of testosterone prescriptions illustrates an opportunity for treatment guidelines to be streamlined across all specialties in order to improve outcomes for all patients."

(PubMed, J Pediatr Endocrinol Metab) - "While a significant increase in testosterone was not found over time, the negative relationship between BMI and testosterone persisted, suggesting there may be an optimal threshold for testosterone production with respect to BMI. Long-term studies are needed."
