Phylogenomic and phenotypic profiling of carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa clinical isolates reveals lineage-specific resistance mechanisms and adaptive responses. (PubMed, Microb Genom) - "A total of 136 CRPA clinical isolates collected from 28 healthcare centres across Mexico were analysed through core genome phylogeny, sequence type (ST) assignment, resistome profiling, oprD variant analysis, bacterial growth kinetics under imipenem and meropenem exposure and qRT-PCR-based expression of oprD, mexA, mexC, mexE and mexY genes...In 36% (49/146) of the isolates, β-lactamases (bla VIM 16%, bla GES11% and bla IMP 11%) were identified with carbapenemase activity previously reported...Carbapenem resistance in P. aeruginosa is shaped by both phylogenetic background and antibiotic-driven stress responses. This study provides an integrated analysis of resistance mechanisms - including gene expression and physiological adaptation - across major phylogenetic lineages in clinical isolates recovered in Mexico, underscoring the importance of considering non-carbapenemase resistance pathways in surveillance and treatment strategies."

Mechanical Behavior of Five Different Morse Taper Implants and Abutments with Different Conical Internal Connections and Angles: An In Vitro Experimental Study. (PubMed, J Funct Biomater) - "After applying loads, the values were 63.5 ± 3.06 N for Group 1, 34.2 ± 2.45 N in Group 2, and 23.1 ± 1.29 N in Group 5. It was concluded that in terms of the mechanical behavior of the five designs of MT IA sets, with and without the application of loads, the Imp 11.5, SIN 11.5, and Srt 15 groups showed better results compared to the SIN 16 and Neo 16 groups, showing that lower values of cone angulation increase the friction between the parts (IA), thus avoiding the need to maintain the torque of the fixing screw to maintain the union of the sets."
