Complete Genome Sequence of Escherichia coli Bacteriophage PGT2.
(PubMed, Genome Announc)
- "Bacteriophage PGT2 was isolated from horse feces by using an uncharacterized Escherichia coli strain, 7s, isolated from the same sample as the host. Bacteriophage PGT2 and a related phage, phiKT, which was previously isolated from the same source, are likely to represent a new genus within the Autographivirinae subfamily of the Podoviridae family of viruses."

Sci Rep
- "Both bacteriophages together could propagate in 23 of 27 M. morganii clinical isolates of different origin and antibiotic resistance profiles, making them suitable for further studies on a development of bacteriophage cocktail for potential therapeutic applications."

Characterization and Genomic Analysis of SFPH2, a Novel T7virus Infecting Shigella.
(PubMed, Front Microbiol)
- "...Comparative analysis of the genome revealed that the SFPH2 belongs to the subfamily Autographivirinae and genus T7virus...A comparison of the fiber proteins showed that minor differences in the amino acid residues might specify different protein binding regions and determine host species. In conclusion, this is the first report of a T7virus that can infect Shigella; SFPH2 has a functional stability under a wide range of temperatures and pH values, showing the potential to be widely applied to control Shigella-associated clinical infections and reduce the transmission rates of S. flexneri serotype 2a and its variants in the environment."
