GRAHAM-LITTLE-PICCARDI-LASSEUR SYNDROME IN A BULGARIAN PATIENT: CASE REPORT AND SHORT PATHOGENETIC UPDATE IN RELATION TO THE CONNECTION TO ANTIGEN/ MOLECULAR MIMICRY.
(PubMed, Georgian Med News)
- "Initial therapy included loratadine and topical clobetasol propionate. Due to the suspicion of possible drug-induced reaction, the antihypertensive therapy, which consisted of valsartan, bisoprolol, spironolactone, and chlorthalidone, was discontinued and replaced with moxonidine...Prescribed outpatient treatment included acitretin, bilastine, and topical prednisolone for the scalp. Improvement was observed in the lesions located on the trunk and upper and lower extremities following betamethasone/salicylic acid ointment was prescribed, and methylprednisolone aceponate cream...It is this fact that suggests that polymedication could also be considered as a trigger of lichen planus and its subforms such as GLPLS. The hypothesis surrounding alterations in tissue homeostasis as a potential trigger factor for autoimmunity is being discussed, with a specific focus on infectious and drug-induced forms of lichen planus, as well as Graham-Little-Lasseur syndrome."

Drug-Induced Subacute Cutaneous Lupus Erythematosus Associated with Fenofibrate Lipid Lowering Agent.
(PubMed, Skinmed)
- "Her treatment for the past 4 years included metformin, saxagliptin, atorvastatin, vitamin B12, vitamin D, lansoprazole, and aspirin. Methylprednisolone aceponate ointment, pimecrolimus ointment 0.1%, and sunblock were prescribed. Her facial eruption was only minimally lessened, while the dermatitis worsened on the trunk, arms, and legs."

Improvement of Fox-Fordyce disease with botulinum toxin type A
(EADV 2024)
- "Treatment with methylprednisolone aceponate 1mg/g ointment and clindamycin 1% gel yielded no improvement after 3 months. Due to concomitant hyperhidrosis, she received one session of intradermal injection of 75 U botulinum toxin type A (BTX-A, Botox®, Allergan, Inc) into each axilla...Other modalities with varying success rates include topical calcineurin inhibitors, tretinoin, clindamycin, oral contraceptives, laser therapy, surgical excision, and phototherapy... A 36-year-old pre-menopausal woman presented with a four-year history of multiple mildly itchy papules in both axillae. She had no significant medical history and denied previous laser hair removal or use of topical products/fragrances. Physical examination revealed multiple firm, non-tender, skin-colored follicular papules grouped in the bilateral axilla."

(EADV 2024)
- "The patient was recommended to use topical steroids, avoiding Hydroxychloroquine because of planning for pregnancy. Patient used Methylprednisolone aceponate cream during 14 days with minor changes of the lesion color, then no treatment has been performed... Malignant tumours of the skin could be considered as one of REM underlying causes. Further clinical trials needed."

Chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus in a patient with a history of Kikuchi–Fujimoto disease
(EADV 2024)
- "A diagnosis of CCLE was made and the patient received hydroxychloroquine 200 mg/d, methylprednisolone aceponate topically, with good tolerance and improvement within a month. I present this case to highlight the rare clinical entity of KFD in the Caucasian population, the need for a long-term follow-up, and the high risk of associated autoimmune diseases such as SLE. Our patient only developed symptoms of chronic lupus, approximately 7 years after the symptoms of KFD disappeared. Therefore, long-term follow-up of patients with this syndrome seems necessary."

INTERESTING FACT: Delayed systemic allergic reactions to corticosteroids: Clinical symptoms y cross-reactivity
(EAACI 2024)
- "The ST were diagnostic in 37% of cases, two patients by PT with positive readings at D2 and D4 for the culprit drugs (hydrocortisone, budesonide, and methylprednisolone aceponate respectively), IDT were positive in only one patient with the culprit drug (dexamethasone)...The most commonly was intravenous hydrocortisone and oral methylprednisolone, both belonging to group 1...We considered necessary to prove CS from different groups to offer safe alternatives to the patients. None of them presented reactions to two or more groups of CS and although cross-reactivity exists between CS of the same group, all of our patients presented good tolerance."

Care and medical costs of urticaria in children in Germany : Drugs, medical and inpatient services
(PubMed, Dermatologie (Heidelb))
- "The lack of guidelines for the standardization of treatment in children still leads to ambiguities and different treatment concepts among the specialist groups, which must be eliminated in order to enable more efficient therapies. The treatment of chronic urticaria in children and adolescents is mainly carried out by pediatricians, general practitioners and dermatologists. Systemic and topical medications as well as inpatient services are the most important cost factors."

(EADV 2023)

We present the first case of cutaneous ulcers associated to Hemoal Forte®. A directed anamnesis is frequently the key in any diagnostic process. Moreover, among all the complementary tests to study chronic cutaneous ulcers, one must always consider patch tests as a fundamental diagnostic tool."

The application of the VCA to classify inherent potency provides a reliable method to establish a classification system for TCs.
