Ameliorative Effect of Vitamin C Against Tramadol-Induced Learning and Memory Impairment in Juvenile Rat Via Attenuation of Oxidative Stress and Dysfunctional Synaptic Plasticity.
(PubMed, J Neuroimmune Pharmacol)
- "These findings suggest that Vit C can attenuate cognitive impairments associated with chronic TM consumption, likely through modulation of hippocampal oxidative stress and enhancement of LTP induction. Therefore, Vit C could be a promising candidate for further investigation as a potential therapeutic agent to mitigate cognitive dysfunction associated with TM use."

Bioaccumulation of Psychoactive Contaminants and Their Effects on Brain-Gonad-Sperm Neurotransmitter Networks in Fish.
(PubMed, Environ Sci Technol)
- "Here, we investigated the effects of environmentally relevant concentrations of a mixture of seven PSYCs (citalopram, donepezil, gabapentin, methamphetamine, sertraline, tramadol, and venlafaxine) on European perch (Perca fluviatilis) during a 23 day exposure. No significant changes were observed in gonadal histopathology or sperm-quality parameters; however, the observed molecular alterations suggest potential consequences under longer or chronic exposures. These findings identify sperm as a previously overlooked target for psychoactive pollutants and reveal neurochemical disruption along the brain-gonad-sperm axis as a previously unrecognized mechanism through which PSYCs may affect fish physiology."

Intercostal Cryoanalgesia in Pediatric Nuss Repair for Pectus Excavatum: A Three-Case Series From Ecuador.
(PubMed, Cureus)
- "A standardized multimodal protocol included bilateral pectoralis nerve II blocks, a type of ultrasound-guided regional anesthetic technique used to manage chest wall pain, plus a dexmedetomidine infusion and scheduled non-opioid analgesics; tramadol was reserved for rescue via the intravenous route. No neurologic deficits or wound complications were observed. These observations support the feasibility and safety of intercostal cryoanalgesia in a middle-income setting and suggest that immediate preoperative application (-24 hours) may provide earlier analgesic onset than intraoperative timing, warranting larger comparative evaluations."

Therapeutic challenges in a rare trigeminal autonomic cephalalgia
(EHF-EHC 2025)
- "A discrete improvement was noted with intravenous eptinezumab 300 mg every 12 weeks, in combination with duloxetine, gabapentin, topiramate and tapentadol. He makes excessive use of fast-acting tramadol and ibuprofen to alleviate acute pain...SUNCT remains a therapeutic challenge due to its rarity, limited evidence base, and frequent refractoriness. This reinforces the need for further research and therapeutic innovation."

SUNCT-like headache secondary to herpes zoster in the ipsilateral ophthalmic nerve distribution: A case report
(EHF-EHC 2025)
- "A 52-year-old Sri Lankan male developed painful vesicular eruptions over the right ophthalmic dermatome and was treated with oral acyclovir (800 mg, five times daily)...Treatment included oral prednisolone (15 mg/day, tapered by 5 mg/week), carbamazepine (100 mg t.d.s., increased to 200 mg t.d.s. from week two), pregabalin (75 mg nocte), and tramadol (50 mg nocte)...This case underscores a SUNCT-like syndrome following ophthalmic zoster, which appears more pharmacoresponsive than primary SUNCT. Immunosuppressive states like diabetes, should be considered underlying zoster reactivation."

Modulation of PM20D1 expression by rosiglitazone confers neuroprotection in tramadol-induced Parkinsonian rats.
(PubMed, Toxicol Rep)
- "Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder with no available disease‑modifying therapy, and tramadol misuse has been increasingly associated with PD‑like neurotoxicity through oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and apoptosis. The low-dose RSG plus levodopa-carbidopa combination achieved maximal behavioral recovery and dopamine restoration (1023.0 ± 248.0 pg/mL) compared to the tramadol-only group. These findings provide the first evidence that RSG confers neuroprotection against tramadol-induced Parkinsonism through PPARγ-mediated modulation of PM20D1 gene expression, highlighting a novel translational therapeutic axis with potential disease-modifying implications for PD."

Hypophysitis Induced by Tislelizumab: A Case Report of Somnolence and Delirium with Elevated Eosinophils.
(PubMed, Am J Case Rep)
- "The patient developed worsening daytime somnolence and nocturnal delirium following tramadol administration for pain associated with a metastatic tumor in the left axilla...After receiving hydrocortisone treatment, the patient's symptoms of somnolence and delirium vanished...CONCLUSIONS This case underlines the necessity for timely assessment of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis function in patients presenting with neurological symptoms, such as somnolence and delirium, particularly in the presence of elevated peripheral blood eosinophil counts. Simultaneously, it is essential for us to understand that patients with hypophysitis induced by ICIs require long-term hormone replacement therapy due to adrenocortical insufficiency."
