(PubMed, J Appl Crystallogr) - "It enables highly accurate crystal alignment within instruments with a Boehler-Almax DAC design, achieving precision better than 0.02 mm easily...This method employs Snell's law, which relates the angles of incidence and refraction of light passing through different media to estimate the crystal position within the DAC by measuring the apparent transverse dis-placement of the crystal image at various viewing angles after rotating the DAC by 180°. This information allows for fine-tuning of the crystal alignment within the DAC, ensuring optimal conditions for high-pressure diffraction experiments."

Optical nonreciprocity in multilayer nanoisland systems of [Ag--AlO]. (PubMed, J Phys Condens Matter) - "We study the effect of optical nonreciprocity in [Ag--Almax ≈ 7°. We suggest that a possible mechanism for the optical nonreciprocity effect in these structures can be related to the excitation of localized plasmons in Ag islands. We show that Δω essentially depends on the interlayer and intralayer interaction between Ag layers in multilayer structures and is suppressed in the case of strong intralayer and interlayer interaction of plasma oscillations."

Combining Liquid Oral Drugs with Thickener: Compatibility and Changes in Viscosity. (PubMed, Dysphagia) - "Three drugs (almagate, ibuprofen, and macrogol) were found to be physically incompatible with the thickener and should not be mixed. Viscosity measurements indicated that clarithromycin and plantago ovata increased the viscosity of the mixture and required lower amount to achieve the target textures (110 cP, 590 cP, and 2620 cP for 7 g, 10 g, and 12 g in drug-free samples, respectively), whereas another subset reduced viscosity and required more thickener. This proved very relevant for acetylcysteine, amoxicillin, calcifediol, ferrous gluconate, fosfomycin, lactitol, lactulose, mepifiline, paracetamol, rivastigmine, sertraline, and tramadol. Measurements were below 1750 cP. Awareness of how each drug behaves when combined with thickeners is essential to avoid potential complications in OD."

(PubMed, J Food Biochem) - "Considering the unique distribution of ethanol on gastric mucosa, it is worthwhile to explore the specific cell death pattern of gastric epithelial cells under high-concentration ethanol treatment. Further investigation of the mechanisms of alcoholic gastric diseases would provide potential therapeutic strategies for the treatment of acute alcoholic gastric diseases as well as other acute alcoholic diseases."
