MRI findings of pelvic organs in transmen, who presented with vaginal bleeding after taking muscularization hormone
(ESUR 2025)
- "The masculinization hormone has affected the diffuse enlargement of the clitoris in our study, which is in concurrence with the study of A. Dimakopoulou (21) reported the enlargement of the size of the clitoris after 3-4 months after the masculinization hormone supplement as an exogenous androgen effect on the gland and can range from 4-5 cm in length and might stop growing after 2-3 cycles from negative feedback to the pituitary gland. In our study, we are the first to report the normal measurement of clitoris crus, hood, and gland in three dimensions, and morphological changes seen as wider than tall appearance in transmen, using the high-resolution MRI in the Asian population and reported the enlargement of the gland, diffusely."

A Preclinical Model of Testosterone Exposure in Female Mice Recapitulates the Human Phenotype
(ENDO 2025)
- "These findings indicate, through detailed reproductive phenotyping, that exogenous T exposure in postpubertal female mice recapitulates the human phenotype of increased body weight, lack of menstrual cyclicity and clitoromegaly. The sex steroid responsive adipokines, leptin and adiponectin, decreased to levels similar to male mice. This translational model can serve to help understand mechanisms of action of T on the neuroendocrine control of reproduction in humans, as well as the metabolic consequences of T therapy."

Sex steroid priming prior to growth hormone stimulation testing in peripubertal adolescents with short stature?
(ESPE-ESE 2025)
- "For priming, sex steroids were delivered; testosterone enanthate 100mg IM 5-7 days before GHST for boys and estradiol valerate 1-2mg PO 3 days before GHST (glucagon or clonidine) for girls. In our cohort of peripubertal adolescents with short stature sex steroid priming prior to growth hormone stimulation testing failed to reveal statistically significant difference in growth hormone secretion."

Sex differences in the Protein Kinase A signaling of chronic postsurgical pain sensitization is medi
(IASP 2024)
- "We then pharmacologically or surgically activated or inhibited ARs with 4 experiments: 1) in female mice, we administered testosterone enanthate (TE, 0.45 mg/kg, subcutaneous) or vehicle (sesame oil) for two weeks (n = 5-8); 2) in female mice, we spinally administered TE (10 µg, intrathecal) or vehicle (cremophore: ethanol: saline – 1:1:8) (n = 6-8); 3) in male mice, we administered flutamide (50 mg/kg, subcutaneous) to block AR (n = 6-12); 4) male mice received orchiectomy (surgical removal of testes) or sham surgery (n = 6-8). After each of these interventions, we administered vehicle, PKA inhibitor H89 (10 nmol, i.t.), and/or KOR antagonist LY2456302 (10 µg, i.t.) in a 2×2 design in both male and female mice... We found that pharmacological or surgical interruption of AR prevented the ability of a PKA inhibitor to prevent pain reinstatement in male mice, whereas pharmacological activation of AR recruited the ability of PKA to prevent reinstatement in..."

Clinical, Ovulatory and Histological Effect of a Postnatal Testosterone Treatment in Female Dogs.
(PubMed, Animals (Basel))
- "The puppies were physically followed up until puberty when ovulation was tested by serum progesterone. The height of the endometrium and myometrial thickness did not differ between groups. It was concluded that a supraphysiological postnatal dose of testosterone did not affect ovulatory capacity, nor did it provoke gonadal histological alterations, although it caused an increased area of endometrial glands and a higher uterine epithelium."

Effects of testosterone enanthate on aggression, risk-taking, competition, mood, and other cognitive domains during 28 days of severe energy deprivation.
(PubMed, Psychopharmacology (Berl))
- "Exogeneous testosterone enanthate (200 mg/week) during severe energy restriction did not reliably alter the measures of cognition. Study limitations include the relatively small sample size compared to many studies of acute testosterone administration. The findings are specific to healthy males experiencing severe energy deficit and should not be generalized to effects of other doses, formulations, or acute administration of endogenous testosterone or studies conducted with larger samples using tests of cognitive function designed to detect specific effects of testosterone."

GENDER DYSPHORIA IN A PATIENT WITH OVOTESTICULAR DISORDER OF SEX DEVELOPMENT
(ENDO 2023)
- "OT-DSD is an uncommon condition, raising issues of gender assignment that are dependent on factors such as age at diagnosis, phenotype, internal structures and reproductive potential. Scarce data exists on long-term outcomes in OT-DSD, including the frequency of gender dysphoria in these patients. Gender identity is an important factor to consider on long-term follow-up of OT-DSD patients.*Unless otherwise noted, all abstracts presented at ENDO must not be released to the press or the public until the date and time of presentation."

The management of age-related oxidative stress in male hypogonadism associated with non-communicable chronic disease
(Fertility 2023)
- " In this narrative review, we discuss the approaches for clinical management of NCDs associated hypogonadic men, including testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), metformin, weight management, and antioxidant supplementation. The relationship between ageing, oxidative stress, male hypogonadism, and NCDs in males is complex. Although TRT may be beneficial, alternative therapeutic approaches require consideration. Weight loss, through nutritional and lifestyle interventions, and the use of nutritional and phytomedicinal antioxidants, may provide novel therapeutic options in the management of age-related NCDs in males by alleviating oxidative stress and improving steroidogenesis."

[VIRTUAL] Trends in Testosterone Prescriptions Amongst Medical Specialties: A 5-year CMS Data Analysis
(AUA 2021)
- "TRT modalities were consolidated into four categories: Topical (Androderm, Androgel, Axiron, Fortesta, Natesto, Testim), oral (Android, Methitest, Methyltestosterone, Testred, Striant), injection (Aveed, Depo-Testosterone, Testosterone Cypionate, Testosterone Enanthate) and pellet (Testopel)... Although multiple TRT modalities exist, topical and injected are by far the most prescribed amongst this cohort. Topical therapy costs more than injection despite being prescribed less often. The wide variation in modalities of testosterone prescriptions illustrates an opportunity for treatment guidelines to be streamlined across all specialties in order to improve outcomes for all patients."
