BioPoint: Enhancing Human-Computer Interaction through Single-Site, Multi-Sensor Gesture Recognition.
(PubMed, Annu Int Conf IEEE Eng Med Biol Soc)
- "This study also introduces "Myo Hero", an online environment inspired by "Guitar Hero." Myo Hero provides a dynamic method for testing multi-gesture recognition systems, improving the evaluation process's appeal. Online evaluation of the multimodal system substantially outperformed random play, signifying EMG-IMU-PPG's potential for human-computer interaction."

Evaluation of a single Eporatio® micro-dose in urine and dried blood spots.
(PubMed, Drug Test Anal)
- "After 72 h, 40% of urine samples and 60% of DBS samples were suspicious and would have proceeded to a confirmation analysis. DBS is an efficient complementary matrix to urine for detection of rhEPO micro-doses."

Photoplethysmography-based derivation of physiological information using the BioPoint.
(PubMed, Annu Int Conf IEEE Eng Med Biol Soc)
- "The results show that the BioPoint can accurately determine both heart rate and oxygen saturation from various locations on the body. However, as the BioPoint's photoplethysmograph is not calibrated it cannot be used for medical purposes (non-medical-grade)."

Comparison of four commercial immunomagnetic separation kits for the detection of Cryptosporidium.
(PubMed, J Water Health)
- "The Waterborne beads did not perform well on any samples, with recovery efficiencies ranging from 0 to 8%. Fluorescence microscopy analyses showed that both the IMS method and the sample matrix processed affect the quality of the membranes, with the cleanest samples for microscopy examination observed from BioPoint CryptoBead."

A novel point-of-care test for cirrhosis based on dimeric to monomeric IgA ratio in blood: a pilot cohort study.
(PubMed, Hepatol Commun)
- "POC dIgA ratio test had moderate accuracy for cirrhosis. Further studies evaluating the accuracy of POC dIgA ratio testing for cirrhosis screening are warranted."

Validation of a novel point-of-care test for alanine aminotransferase measurement: A pilot cohort study.
(PubMed, Liver Int)
- "Stored plasma samples from adults with chronic liver disease (Test cohort n= 240; Validation cohort n=491) were analysed using the BioPoint® antigen immunoassay POC ALT1 lateral flow test, which provides quantitative ALT results (Axxin handheld reader) or semi-quantitative results (visual read, cutoff 40IU/mL)...Semi-quantitative POC ALT1 had good accuracy for laboratory ALT in the Validation cohort (AUROC 0.85, 95% CI 0.81-0.99; sensitivity 77%, specificity 93%). Combined with HBV DNA and transient elastography, both quantitative and semi-quantitative POC ALT1 test had good accuracy for excluding hepatitis B treatment need (sensitivity 96%, specificity 78%, NPV 99%)."

[VIRTUAL] Validation of a novel point-of-care test for gut leakage in cirrhosis based on dimeric to monomeric IgA ratio: a pilot cohort study
(EASL-ILC 2021)
- " BioPoint® POC dIgA test is an antigen immunoassay-based lateral flow test which uses 15 μL of plasma or whole blood and provides a quantitative result <20minutes using the Axxin hand-held lateral flow reader... POC dIgA ratio test had moderate accuracy for cirrhosis whichwas comparable to APRI. Further studies evaluating the clinical utility and cost-effectiveness of POC dIgA ratio test for liver cirrhosis screening compared with laboratory based APRI score calculation are warranted."

[VIRTUAL] Using dimeric to monomeric IgA ratio to diagnose portal hypertension in liver disease: a pilot cohort study
(EASL-ILC 2021)
- " BioPoint® POC dIgA test is an antigen immunoassay-based lateral flow test which uses 15 μL of plasma or whole blood and provides a quantitative result <20minutes using the Axxin hand-held reader... POC dIgA ratio test had good accuracy for the presence of PHT and varices. Given limited access to transient elastography and endoscopy in low resource settings, the high NPV of POC dIgA test for PHT in this study warrants further clinical utility and cost- effectiveness studies in low-resource settings."

Pooling Regularized Graph Neural Network for fMRI Biomarker Analysis.
(PubMed, Med Image Comput Comput Assist Interv)
- "We apply the PR-GNN framework on a Biopoint Autism Spectral Disorder (ASD) fMRI dataset. We investigate different choices of the hyperparameters and show that PR-GNN outperforms baseline methods in terms of classification accuracy. The salient ROI detection results show high correspondence with the previous neuroimaging-derived biomarkers for ASD."

[VIRTUAL] Validation of a novel rapid point-of-care ALT test in patients with viral hepatitis
(EASL-ILC-I 2020)
- "The BioPoint POC ALT1 test had good correlation with laboratory assay ALT and good accuracy for identifying hep B patients with ALT levels > ULN using AASLD and EASL criteria. Further validation of the POC ALT1 test in prospective clinical trials is needed."
