Comparison of Outcomes between Haploidentical and Matched Related Donors for Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukemia: A Multicenter Real-World Study
(ASH 2024)
- "Graft source shift to peripheral blood (PB) predominancy because of COVID-19 was partially involved in the dismal outcome in the MRD group since 2020 (PB only vs. mixed grafts, EFS, 43.0% vs. 55.3%, P =0.082; OS, 50.6% vs. 86.6%, P =0.012) but not in HID (PB only vs. mixed grafts, EFS, 53.0% vs. 59.6%, P =0.590; OS, 66.1% vs. 73.1%, P =0.663)...A higher pre-HSCT PLT and younger donor age may enhance the benefit. In conclusion, our study provided a new insight into CMML patients who underwent HSCT."

Alpha-Synuclein's oligomerization propensity is distinctly influenced by the segments from the spike and envelope proteins of SARS-CoV-2
(ACS-Fall 2023)
- "Interestingly, the SK9 accelerates the aSyn oligomerization by binding to its C-terminal which caused the abrupt membrane disruption, the hallmark of aSyn toxicity. This may provide molecular insights to the neurodegenerative consequences of COVID-19, and also adds value to the role of aSyn regions in its aggregation propensity."

The Public's COVID-19 Fatigue and Mental Health Towards COVID-19 Public Health and Social Measures (PHSMS) and Mental Health in China: A Discrete Choice Experiment
(ISPOR 2023)
- "Fatigue and fear of COVID-19 infection contributed to the public's mental health problem. Hence, at the late-stage pandemic, policymakers should consider reducing people’s mental burden via relieving people's fear of infection when PHSMs are being relaxed. And this also provides insights for the outbreaks' PHSMs implementation in the future."

Electrospun ceria for air disinfection and purification
(ACS-Sp 2023)
- "In less than a year, the COVID-19 pandemic claims more than a million lives, infecting close to 40 million people, and paralyzes the world economy...Nanofiber mesh of precise dimensions were prepared to investigate the oxidative transformation of the cerium precursor to cerium oxides to establish its formation mechanism. Subsequent bactericidal study confirms its efficacy against S. aureus and E. coli and methanol oxidation carried out near ambient temperatures indicate its reactivity for VOC oxidation."

Coronavirus treatment: Vaccines/drugs in the pipeline for Covid-19
(Clinical Trials Arena)
- "The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology has identified several vaccine targets, which can be developed as a treatment for coronavirus. Researchers at the university have identified B-cell and T-cell epitopes, which are capable of generating an immune response against the SARS virus and a similar response against the coronavirus....Some of the epitopes identified may be capable of generating an immune response specifically against Covid-19."
