Vasospastic Angina Following Capecitabine Initiation: A Rare But Serious Cardiotoxic Effect.
(PubMed, J Emerg Med)
- "The cardiotoxic effect most commonly associated with 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) is coronary vasospasm, which typically occurs within the first hours or days following administration and can present with a spectrum of manifestations ranging from stable angina to acute coronary syndrome with hemodynamic instability...Nitroglycerin relieved symptoms and normalized ECG changes...WHY SHOULD AN EMERGENCY PHYSICIAN BE AWARE OF THIS?: Emergency physicians should suspect fluoropyrimidine-induced cardiotoxicity in patients with chest pain after starting capecitabine, even without cardiac risk factors. Early recognition, drug discontinuation, and vasodilator therapy are critical to prevent serious complications and ensure timely cardiology-oncology coordination."

Pulsed-Field vs Thermal Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation in Patients From the Marshall Islands: A Study of Generalized Coronary Spasm.
(PubMed, JACC Clin Electrophysiol)
- "In this Marshallese cohort, Gen-CS occurred universally after PFA but not after thermal ablation and was frequently clinically severe. These findings suggest population-specific susceptibility and raise the hypothesis that PFA may confer higher Gen-CS risk than thermal energies."

Acute Myocardial Infarction Caused by Oral-Contraceptive - Related Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection: a Case Report.
(PubMed, Kardiologiia)
- "Coronary angiography revealed diffuse LAD narrowing that improved after intracoronary nitroglycerin...At one-year follow-up, the patient had recovered with normalized left ventricular function. Conclusion Clinicians should be highly suspicious of SCAD in young women with ACS or AMI, particularly those using oral contraceptives. Early identification with appropriate imaging can lead to favorable outcomes."

Unanticipated intraoperative haemodynamic challenges during adrenalectomy for a phaeochromocytoma misdiagnosed as an adrenocortical tumour.
(PubMed, BMJ Case Rep)
- "Intraoperatively, tumour manipulation precipitated abrupt hypertensive surges with bradycardia, necessitating nitroglycerine and sodium nitroprusside infusion. Intraoperative haemodynamic instability during adrenal manipulation should raise suspicion of catecholamine secretion, even in the absence of classical symptoms. The report emphasises the importance of invasive monitoring and anaesthetic preparedness to manage unexpected catecholamine release."

Transradial Access Without Radial Cocktail for Mechanical Thrombectomy is Safe and Feasible
(ISC 2026)
- "Three groups are divided: full dose cocktail (Heparin 2000 units, Verapamil 2.5mg, and Nitroglycerin 200mg), half dose cocktail (Heparin 1000 units or none, Verapamil 2.5mg, and Nitroglycerin 200mg) and none cocktail. In the modern era of mechanical thrombectomy the fast procedural time may make the need of intra-arterial radial cocktail unnecessary during transradial access. These findings should be corroborated with a larger prospective multicenter data."

Nitroglycerin (GTN) Alleviates Ischemic Stroke Injury via GPR35-Dependent Regulation of Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Neuronal PANoptosis
(ISC 2026)
- "GTN confers neuroprotection in AIS with reperfusion by preserving mitochondrial dynamics, improving bioenergetics, and inhibiting PANoptosis through the NO-GPR35 axis. Pharmacological blockade experiments confirm GPR35 as an essential target in mediating these effects, highlighting GTN as a potential therapeutic adjunct in stroke."

Pulsed Field Ablation vs Standard Radiofrequency Ablation for Typical Atrial Flutter: ADVANTAGE AF Trial Substudy.
(PubMed, J Am Coll Cardiol)
- P=N/A | "This subanalysis of ADVANTAGE AF extends the primary results by allowing comparison of bipolar linear PFA and RF ablation for CTI, integrating preclinical lesion modeling with clinical dosing, and establishing a standardized reliable coronary safety protocol. Although not randomized comparisons, these findings suggest that CTI ablation with a linear PFA catheter is associated with safety and efficacy similar to RF ablation and greater efficiency. (A Prospective Single Arm Open Label Study of the FARAPULSE Pulsed Field Ablation System in Subjects With Persistent Atrial Fibrillation [ADVANTAGE AF; NCT05443594])."

Effects of aerobic exercise on integrated cardiovascular health and energy metabolism in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus: study protocol for a randomized controlled trial.
(PubMed, Front Endocrinol (Lausanne))
- "Therefore, we designed a randomized controlled trial to investigate its impact on integrated cardiovascular health - specifically assessed by nitroglycerin-mediated dilation (NMD) and myocardial global work efficiency (GWE) - and systemic energy metabolism in patients with T2DM...This study provides an integrated physiological perspective on how 12-week moderate-intensity aerobic exercise influences cardiovascular function and systemic metabolism in patients with T2DM. We hypothesize that 12 weeks of aerobic exercise will significantly improve NMD and GWE, concurrent with enhanced metabolic flexibility and reduced fatigue compared to the non-exercise control group."

Migraine-induced cochlear injury triggers ZBP1-mediated PANoptosis via CGRP signaling.
(PubMed, J Headache Pain)
- "We demonstrated OHCs as the key targets in CM-induced, CGRP-mediated peripheral hearing impairment. CGRP exerts its pathogenic role by triggering a cascade of intracellular stress and inflammatory pathways, ultimately leading to cell death. These findings provide a phenotypic basis for a subtype of migraine-induced hearing loss, paving the way for auditory protection strategies."

(PubMed, Phytomedicine)
- "Baizhi alleviates migraine through multi-target regulation of the gut-brain axis, including intestinal barrier repair, gut microbiota remodeling, and cerebral metabolic restoration. Notably, this study on Baizhi represents the first integration of spatial metabolomics (MALDI-MSI) with gut microbiome and systemic metabolomics to elucidate migraine mechanisms, providing a novel multi-omics strategy for understanding the holistic therapeutic effects of traditional Chinese medicine. Transcutaneous Auricular Vagus Nerve Stimulation Alleviates Headache Symptoms in Migraine Model Mice by the Locus Coeruleus/Noradrenergic System: An Experimental Study in a Mouse Model of Migraine.
(PubMed, Biomedicines)

Refractory Prinzmetal Angina With Severe Right Coronary Artery Vasospasm and Bradycardia in a 46-Year-Old Female: A Complex Case Associated With Hypophosphatemia.
(PubMed, Cureus)
- "Two hours after discontinuation of intravenous nitroglycerin due to hypotension, the patient developed recurrent chest pain with 3-mm ST-segment elevation in the inferior leads and sinus bradycardia...This case highlights the importance of clarifying the temporal relationship between electrolyte abnormalities and vasospastic events and recognizing hypophosphatemia as a possible reversible contributor to refractory vasospastic angina. Severe right coronary artery spasm can closely mimic acute coronary syndrome and result in hemodynamic instability; prompt angiographic diagnosis, intracoronary vasodilator therapy, and correction of underlying metabolic disturbances are essential for effective management."
