[VIRTUAL] Successful bilateral electroconvulsive therapy in a patient with a seizure disorder taking levetiracetam, lorazepam, and zonisamide: a case report
(ASHP 2020)
- "The patient had been stable and seizure-free on levetiracetam extended-release (XR), lorazepam, and zonisamide. To our knowledge, this is the first reported case describing the management of levetiracetam and zonisamide concomitantly in ECT. Our case suggests that utilizing the IR formulation of levetiracetam, administering the evening dose early the day prior to the procedure, and temporarily discontinuing zonisamide dosing prior to bilateral ECT was effective for the treatment of severe MDD while maintaining seizure prophylaxis."

Serotonin Syndrome Associated With Vilazodone Overdose in a 22-Month-Old Treated With Dexmedetomidine.
(PubMed, J Emerg Med)
- "The patient was admitted and initially treated with supportive care and lorazepam per recommendations of the poison center, which did not recommend cyproheptadine use. The possibility of false-positive amphetamine screenings when an overdose of vilazodone is suspected should be investigated. Finally, systematic evaluation of the use of dexmedetomidine as treatment for serotonin syndrome or vilazodone ingestion should be done to confirm efficacy."

An Easy and Reliable Way to Prevent Electrocardiographic Deteriorations of Patients Undergoing Off-Pump Coronary Artery Bypass Surgery: Preoperative Anxiolytic Treatment.
(PubMed, Braz J Cardiovasc Surg)
- "Elevated anxiety levels in patients undergoing coronary bypass surgery have a negative effect through prolonged QT and P-wave dispersion times. Anxiolytic treatment before surgery may be useful to prevent ventricular and atrial arrhythmias and associated complications through decreasing the QT and P-wave dispersion duration."

Clozapine in Catatonia: A Case Report and Literature Review
(APA 2019)
- "...Delirium being the principal differential diagnosis, his home psychotropic medications- Fluphenazine, Valproate, and Benztropine were discontinued. Olanzapine 2.5mg was started to treat delirium...Minimal improvement was noted on lorazepam challenge, but no improvement was seen on further up titration to 8mg IV lorazepam per day... There are no randomized control trials to establish the usefulness of clozapine in catatonia. Case reports and case series suggest that clozapine may be used as an option for the treatment of catatonia not responding to benzodiazepines. Higher quality evidence is needed to establish a benefit for clozapine in Catatonia."
