The glucagon-receptor antagonist MK-3577 reduces glucagon-stimulated plasma glucose and insulin concentrations in metabolically healthy overweight cats.
(PubMed, Domest Anim Endocrinol)
- "Similar trends were observed with MK-3577 at the 1 mg/kg dose but the effect was smaller, and not significant. In conclusion, the GRA MK-3577 has a pharmacokinetic profile suitable for diminishing the glucagon-induced rise of glucose and insulin in healthy cats."

Diaporthe sp. F18; a new source of camptothecin-producing endophytic fungus from Nothapodytes nimmoniana growing in Sri Lanka.
(PubMed, Nat Prod Res)
- "The fungus was (KX212080) closely related to Diaporthe guangxiensis (MK335772) with 99% sequence similarity, thus tentatively identified as Diaporthe sp...Tryptophan significantly (p > 0.05) enhanced CPT production while ethanol increased it by 8-fold. This endophytic source produced higher CPT content than what has been reported hitherto in the literature, with fairly stable production up to sixth subculture generations."

Prevalence and Genetic Identification of Three Entamoeba Species in Pigs in Southeastern China.
(PubMed, Biomed Res Int)
- "Two subtype-specific sequences (MK357717 and MK347347) were almost identical to the sequences of E. polecki ST1 (FR686383) and ST3 (AJ566411), respectively...This is the first report regarding mixed infections with E. suis, E. polecki ST1, and E. polecki ST3 in China. More research studies are needed to better understand the transmission and zoonotic potential of Entamoeba spp."
