Successful anesthesia management for middle cerebral artery thrombectomy in a patient with asynchronous cardio-cerebral infarction: a case report.
(PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
- "Anesthesia was managed using a non-intubated general anesthesia approach, involving titration of sedation with sufentanil and remifentanil, combined with norepinephrine to maintain mean arterial pressure (MAP) within ±20% of baseline. The risk of ischemia and hemorrhage was balanced with restrictive fluid management and continuous infusion of tirofiban...Non-invasive general anesthesia was beneficial in maintaining hemodynamic stability and airway safety. The multidisciplinary individualized anesthesia plan developed in this challenging scenario may provide practical references for perioperative management of similar high-risk CCI patients, but its general applicability still needs to be verified in larger-scale studies."

Intra-operative care in uterine transplantation: a case report of a living-donor procedure
(Euroanaesthesia 2025)
- "Spinal anesthesia was performed using morphine, fentanyl and sufentanil for postoperative analgesia, while general anesthesia induction included propofol, sufentanil and succinylcholine. Maintenance consisted of sevoflurane (2–3%, MAC 1–1.3), remifentanil infusion (0.1–0.3 μg/kg/min), and cisatracurium (0.1 μg/kg/min)...Before uterine implantation, basiliximab (20 mg) and methylprednisolone (500 mg) were administered, and 5,000 U of heparin was given before arterial and venous anastomoses were released...Ultrasonography confirmed adequate blood flow through uterine vessels. Experience with living donor uterine transplantation is limited in Latin America. Living donors offer advantages such as reduced cold ischemia time and better surgical planning but raise ethical concerns. This case demonstrated minimal hemodynamic fluctuations, absence of reperfusion syndrome and negligible bleeding, suggesting uterine transplantation may elicit unique physiological responses compared..."

Dexmedetomidine as a Ropivacaine Adjuvant in a Thoracic Paravertebral Block Combined With an Erector Spinae Plane Block for Improving Early Quality of Recovery After Transapical Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation.
(PubMed, Kaohsiung J Med Sci)
- "The postoperative sufentanil consumption was significantly less in the RD group than that in the RS group. A longer time to first use of flurbiprofen with less remedial doses of flurbiprofen consumption within 48 h postoperatively was required for the RD group than that for the RS group. The two groups did not differ in the incidence of side effects. The findings of the study suggest that adding Dex to ropivacaine in TPVB combined with ESPB is effective in improving early quality of recovery and alleviating postoperative pain for patients undergoing transapical TAVI under general anesthesia."

Use of esketamine for tracheoscopic drug injection: a randomized controlled trial.
(PubMed, Front Med (Lausanne))
- "Sufentanil may induce hypotensive bradycardia and other adverse reactions in elderly patients during anesthesia, while esketamine exhibits sedative and analgesic effects with minimal impact on respiration and circulation...The heart rate and oxygen saturation showed no significant differences between the two groups, nor did the amount of propofol administered during the procedure. The utilization of esketamine during the induction phase of bronchoscopy and lavage under general anesthesia can enhance hemodynamic stability and reduce the occurrence of hypotension, thereby facilitating postoperative anesthetic recovery."

Spinal Bupivacaine in a Pregnant Brugada Patient with SARS-COV-2 infection: an unnecessary or a calculated risk?
(Euroanaesthesia 2023)
- "Due to the urgency of the procedure, all options were quickly reviewed with the patient, and spinal anesthesia was performed with 2ml of hyperbaric bupivacaine 0,5% and 2,5 μg of sufentanil with lower limb motor block and T4 sensory level block...The patient was discharged 3 days later. Bupivacaine is a local anesthetic with a distinct affinity for cardiac sodium channels that is thought to potentiate arrhythmias in BrS patients, although there are no studies that undoubtedly demonstrate the risk, particularly in spinal anesthesia.2 Because of conflicting evidence on the matter, this case aims to report the uneventful use of spinal bupivacaine in a patient with BrS."

Breast augmentation under local anesthesia with intercostal blocks and light sedation.
(PubMed, J Plast Surg Hand Surg)
- "The anesthetic protocol consisted of an initial intravenous bolus of 1 mg midazolam and 0.25 mg alfentanil preoperatively. In 2017, this was changed to 2-4 mg midazolam intramuscularly, 1 mg midazolam intravenously, and 2.5 µg sufentanil intravenously...The change in anesthetic regime was associated with a significantly (p < 0.0001) decreased need for supplementary medication with no increased risk of complications. Breast augmentations in local anesthesia with intercostal blocks and light sedation can be performed safely and can serve as an alternative to procedures in general anesthesia."

[VIRTUAL] Anesthetic Consideration For SEEG Placement
(ASA 2021)
- "Volatile aesthetic with sevoflurane or isoflurane was used in all cases and the most common adjunct was sufentanil infusion (52, 78.8%), followed by propofol (32, 48.5%), then Fentanyl (1, 1.5%). Our preliminary data represents the largest cohort of pediatric patients with DRE who had SEEG for surgical planning with respect to (1) perioperative management and (2) outcomes. Retrospective analyses show that patients recover well, requiring minimal time in the ICU. There is low risk of inducing seizures during placement as only 3 patients required rescue AEDs."

Sufentanil postoperative analgesia reduce the increase of T helper 17 (Th17) cells and FoxP3 regulatory T (Treg) cells in rat hepatocellular carcinoma surgical model: A randomised animal study.
(PubMed, BMC Anesthesiol)
- "Sufentanil and morphine postoperative analgesia in HCC rats accepted hepatectomy could relieve postoperative pain, promote the recovery of liver function after surgery, alleviate the immunosuppressive effect of pain. Furthermore, Compared to morphine, sufentanil might have a slighter effect on CD4/CD8 ratio and Treg frequencies. Therefore, sufentanil postoperative analgesia is better than morphine in HCC hepatectomy rats."

Dynamic changes in rhythmic and arrhythmic neural signatures in the subthalamic nucleus induced by anaesthesia and tracheal intubation.
(PubMed, Br J Anaesth)
- "Apart from similar activity changes in both STN and cortex associated with anaesthesia-induced unresponsiveness, we observed specific neuronal activity changes in the STN in response to the anaesthesia and tracheal intubation. We also show that the power-law exponent in the power spectra in the STN was modulated by tracheal intubation in anaesthesia. Our results support the hypothesis that subcortical nuclei may play an important role in the loss and return of responsiveness."
