In Vivo and In Silico Dissection of Triclosan-Induced Reproductive Toxicity: Protective Potentials of Nanoselenium and Phytotherapy.
(PubMed, Basic Clin Pharmacol Toxicol)
- "This study investigated the protective efficacy of clomiphene citrate, conventional selenium, nanoselenium and Tribulus terrestris extract (TTE) against TCS-induced toxicity in male rats...Among these, nanoselenium and TTE showed the most pronounced protective effects, emphasizing their comparative efficacy in counteracting TCS-induced toxicity. The findings highlight the potential of nanoselenium and TTE as promising protective agents against TCS-related reproductive and hepatic damage."

Safety of Clomiphene Citrate and Its Impact on Serum Tumor Markers in Hypogonadal Testicular Cancer Patients After Chemotherapy.
(PubMed, Cureus)
- "Conclusion This is the first study to assess the use of CC in hypogonadal testicular cancer survivors following chemotherapy. CC was associated with an increase in serum testosterone levels with no associated side effects, false-positive elevation of beta-HCG tumor marker levels, or disease recurrence."

Empirical hormonal treatments for idiopathic male infertility: a network meta-analysis comparing antiestrogens and FSH.
(PubMed, Eur J Endocrinol)
- "Both SERMs and FSH improve sperm concentration and count compared to placebo. Clomiphene at low doses and high-dose FSH may offer the greatest benefit. These findings support a personalized empirical treatment approach and emphasize the need for future trials stratified by clinical phenotype, such as the recently proposed APHRODITE criteria."

Protective effect of aqueous extract of Myrica Esculenta against cyclophosphamide-induced spermatogenesis dysfunction in Wistar rats via antioxidant Signaling pathway.
(PubMed, Toxicol Res (Camb))
- "Myrica esculenta fruits contain high levels of chlorogenic acid, caffeic acid, myricetin, quercetin, and ascorbic acid, which have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and pharmacological properties...A total of 25 Wistar rats were divided into five groups, each group consisting of 5 animals; 1) normal control (saline 5 mL/kg), 2) CYP (30 mg/kg, i.p.), 3) clomiphene citrate (0.25 mg/kg/i.p.), 4) aqueous Manihot esculenta extract (250 mg/kg/p.o.), 5) aqueous M. esculenta extract (500 mg/kg/p.o.)...These findings highlight its therapeutic potential in managing male infertility. However, further investigations are necessary to elucidate the precise molecular mechanisms underlying its protective effects."

Integrative Approaches to Ovulation Induction in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: A Narrative Review of Conventional and Complementary Therapies.
(PubMed, Biomedicines)
- "This narrative review summarizes the current evidence for ovulation induction in patients with PCOS, including conventional pharmacologic agents, such as clomiphene citrate, letrozole, gonadotropins, and insulin-sensitizing agents, as well as complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. We also examine emerging adjuvants, such as vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids, sildenafil, and antioxidants that may enhance clinical pregnancy rates or improve endometrial receptivity. While robust evidence supports the use of letrozole as a first-line agent, complementary and integrative therapies may offer additional benefits, particularly in treatment-resistant or preference-driven contexts. Further high-quality studies are needed to clarify the role of combined therapeutic strategies in optimizing fertility outcomes for women with PCOS."

Efficacy and Safety of Clomiphene Citrate for Late-Onset Hypogonadism as Evaluated by Aging Male Symptom Rating Scale Over One Year.
(PubMed, Int J Urol)
- "This is the first study, to our knowledge, showing the efficacy of treatment with clomiphene citrate for late-onset hypogonadism based on the Aging Males Symptoms rating scale score. Because acceptable efficacy and no adverse events were found for 1 year, we emphasize that clomiphene citrate should be one alternative treatment for testosterone replacement in young patients desiring children or patients who are overly concerned about testicular atrophy, especially those with a low serum luteinizing hormone level."

A Case of Heterotopic Pregnancy Resulting in a Live Birth Through Laparoscopic Surgery.
(PubMed, Cureus)
- "Oral clomiphene citrate was initiated, timing guidance was provided on day 16 after the last menstrual period, and pregnancy was established...Careful management is required to preserve an intrauterine pregnancy while treating ectopic pregnancy. Combined Letrozole and Clomiphene Citrate Versus Letrozole Alone in Ovulation Induction for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome Patients: A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials.
(PubMed, Reprod Sci)
- "Lower-dose combination therapy also increased the proportion of follicles > 15 mm (OR 4.09, 95% CI [1.94, 8.60], P < 0.001), with no significant differences in endometrial thickness, follicular size, or progesterone levels. Side effects were similar, though hot flushes were more common with combination therapy (OR 2.99, 95% CI [1.23, 7.23], P = 0.02). Our results support lower-dose combination therapy for improved ovulation, follicle count, and pregnancy outcomes while reducing miscarriage risk."

The addition of hCG to CC was associated with superior recovery of semen parameters and testicular volume. These findings underscore the potential short-term benefits of PCT and highlight the need for prospective randomised trials to establish evidence-based treatment protocols."

This study confirms that embryo culture with a simplified IVF system in a mobile IVF laboratory can be done with promising success rates. This can be a valuable tool in areas where access to ART is limited, due to few and expensive IVF centres mainly found in large cosmopolitan centres."

Medically assisted reproduction and breast cancer risk: time for radiologic surveillance guidelines?
(EUSOBI 2025)
- "We divided the literature into 3 categories, based on the type of infertility drug that was mainly investigated: clomiphene citrate (9 studies), gonadotropins (6 studies) and progesterone (4 studies). To our knowledge, there are no experiences of breast radiologists in this field in the literature. Given the widespread of ART technologies, there is a pressing need to establish radiological surveillance guidelines for women exposed to these treatments, particularly those with additional risk factors such as prolonged infertility or a family history of BC."

Letrozole at the Crossroads of Efficacy and Fetal Safety in Ovulation Induction: A Narrative Review.
(PubMed, Biomedicines)
- "Compared to clomiphene citrate, letrozole is associated with higher ovulation and live birth rates, a lower risk of multiple gestation, and a more favorable endometrial environment. Key clinical strategies-such as early-cycle initiation, lowest effective dosing, and individualized monitoring-optimize therapeutic outcomes while minimizing potential risks. While long-term offspring data remain limited and mechanistic concerns persist, current evidence robustly supports letrozole as a safe and effective option for OI, balancing reproductive success with maternal-fetal safety across a range of infertility indications."
