Dong-A ST reports preclinical gains for two Alzheimer's drugs, eyes Korea trials
(Chosun Biz)
- "At the conference, Dong-A ST unveiled preclinical results on the GPX4 activator 'DA-7505' and the tau aggregation inhibitor 'DA-7503' through a poster presentation...In this study, cognitive function improved in an Alzheimer's mouse model, and superior anti-inflammatory effects were confirmed compared with conventional reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging approaches...The second candidate, DA-7503, is a new drug that inhibits the aggregation of tau protein, cited as another key cause of Alzheimer's disease...In preclinical studies, even low doses improved cognitive and motor functions in a tauopathy mouse model, with greater efficacy at higher doses. It also reduced hyperphosphorylation, aggregation, and accumulation of tau in the brain, improving overall tau pathology."
