Hypoxia-Driven Extracellular Vesicles Promote Pro-Metastatic Signalling in LNCaP Cells via Wnt and EMT Pathways.
(PubMed, Biology (Basel))
- "Extracellular vesicles (EVs), secreted under hypoxia, can deliver modified bioactive cargo that reprograms recipient cells...These findings show that hypoxia-driven EVs can propagate pro-metastatic signalling in less aggressive and normal prostate cells. The findings highlight EVs as a potential therapeutic target in PCa progression."

Engineering Cell-Specific Protein Delivery Vehicles for Erythroid Lineage Cells.
(PubMed, ACS Bio Med Chem Au)
- "Erythroid lineage cells are especially challenging to deliver cargo to because of their unique cytoskeleton and the absence of endocytosis in mature erythrocytes...Our results reveal that certain vehicles exhibit improved efficiencies when directed to cell surface receptors while others do not benefit from this targeting strategy. Together, these findings advance our understanding of protein delivery to challenging cell types and illustrate some of the intricacies of cell-surface receptor targeting."

Neural-induced human adipose tissue-derived stem cell secretome exerts neuroprotection against rotenone-induced Parkinson's disease in rats.
(PubMed, Stem Cell Res Ther)
- "NI-hADSC-CM and NI-hADSC-Exo significantly exerted neuroprotection by decreasing α-syn toxicity, inhibiting neuroinflammation and apoptosis, restoring autophagic flux properties, and promoting the neuronal function in ROT-injected rats; however, the influence of these treatments on signaling pathways differed slightly between the midbrain and striatum regions. Targeting α-syn degradation pathways provides a novel strategy to elucidate the beneficial effects of MSC secretome and future safe cell-free treatments for PD."

Golgi Localized Arl15 Regulates Cargo Transport and Cell Adhesion.
(PubMed, Traffic)
- "Traction force microscopy experiments revealed that Arl15 depleted cells exert higher tractions and generate multiple focal adhesion points during the initial phase of cell adhesion compared to control cells. Collectively, these studies implicate a functional role for Arl15 in regulating cargo transport from the Golgi to regulate cell surface processes."

Digitally Assisted Single-Particle Tracking for Accurate Analysis of Complicated Cargo Transport Dynamics in Microtubule Networks.
(PubMed, Anal Chem)
- "To validate this, we studied the rotational dynamics of the cargo in microtubule confinement. Furthermore, we identified characteristic patch-searching patterns in the microtubule network, where cargo exhibited a combined motion pattern of confined and hopping diffusion to navigate through the constraints imposed by the microtubules."

Convergent depression of activity-dependent bulk endocytosis in rodent models of autism spectrum disorder.
(PubMed, Mol Autism)
- "This suggests that depression of activity-dependent bulk endocytosis is a presynaptic homeostatic mechanism to correct for intrinsic dysfunction in ASD neurons."
