EFFECT OF ATORVASTATIN PLUS ASPIRIN IN PERIOPERATIVE MYOCARDIAL INJURY IN CANCER PATIENTS: A PROSPECTIVE, RANDOMIZED, PLACEBO-CONTROLLED STUDY - Marcos Ramos
(ACC 2025)
- "We aimed to determine whether the combination of atorvastatin plus aspirin reduces postoperative adverse outcomes in this population. Cancer patients aged 60 or over or those with two or more cardiovascular risk factors regardless of age who had elevated troponin (hs cTI exceed 99th percentile of the upper reference limit) in the postoperative period of non-cardiac surgery under general anesthesia were randomized 1:1 to receive atorvastatin (80 mg/day) associated with aspirin (100 mg/day - group 1) from the first day postoperative or placebo (group 2) from the first day postperative. These results suggest that PMI in cancer patients impacts the postoperative outcomes. The use of Aspirin plus Atorvastatin showed benefit in the 210 days follow-up and may be of value in this setting. Long-term studies with a larger number of participants are needed to confirm these initial findings."

Cardiovascular disease preventive effects of aspirin combined with different statins in the United States general population.
(PubMed, Sci Rep)
- "In comparison to the aspirin use alone, the odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals for CVD were 0.43 (0.33, 0.57), 0.69 (0.42, 1.13), 0.44 (0.31, 0.62), 0.34 (0.23, 0.50) and 0.64 (0.49, 0.84) for the combination use of aspirin and atorvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, rosuvastatin as well as simvastatin, respectively, in the fully-adjusted model...In conclusion, statins combined with aspirin have a clear advantage over aspirin alone in preventing CVD. In addition, when various sex, age, and fitness levels were considered, as well as with and without diabetes mellitus, the combination usage of aspirin and rosuvastatin had the greatest CVD preventive effects than aspirin coupled with other statins."

Micellar eco-friendly HPLC method for simultaneous analysis of ternary combination of aspirin, atorvastatin and ramipril: application to content uniformity testing.
(PubMed, BMC Chem)
- "The suggested technique was employed for the analysis of the three drugs in their prepared tablets maintaining the recommended pharmaceutical ratio without any interference from excipients. The method was further extended to content uniformity testing of RAM. The results were validated according to international council for harmonisation (ICH) guidelines."

A Combination of Atorvastatin and Aspirin Enhances the Pro-Regenerative Interactions of Marrow Stromal Cells and Stroke-Derived Monocytes In Vitro.
(PubMed, Front Pharmacol)
- " Atorvastatin, alone and in combination with aspirin can promote anti-inflammatory effect by modulating the secretome profile of Mo and MSCs. Our results suggest that stroke trials involving the use of intravenous MSCs should consider the effect of aspirin and atorvastatin, both of which are administered to the majority of hospitalized ischemic stroke patients."
