Ventilation With Argon Improves Survival With Good Neurological Recovery After Prolonged Untreated Cardiac Arrest in Pigs.
(PubMed, J Am Heart Assoc)
- "Animals were randomized to 4-hour post-resuscitation ventilation with: 70% nitrogen-30% oxygen (control); 50% Ar-20% nitrogen-30% oxygen (Ar 50%); and 70% Ar-30% oxygen (Ar 70%)...Conclusions Post-resuscitation ventilation with Ar significantly improves neurologic recovery and ameliorates brain injury after cardiac arrest with long no-flow duration. Benefits are greater after Ar 70% than Ar 50%."

Comparative ligand structural analytics illustrated on variably glycosylated MUC1 antigen-antibody binding.
(PubMed, Beilstein J Org Chem)
- "We illustrate this informatics approach by investigating the in-silico binding of a peptide and glycopeptide epitope of the glycoprotein Mucin 1 (MUC1) binding with the antibody AR20.5. Although the bound conformation of peptide and glycopeptide is similar, the glycopeptide fluctuates less and resides in specific conformers for more extended periods. This structural analysis which gives a high-level view of the features in the system under observation, could be readily applied to other binding problems as part of a general strategy in drug design or mechanistic analysis."

Culturable bacteria from an Alpine coniferous forest site: biodegradation potential of organic polymers and pollutants.
(PubMed, Folia Microbiol (Praha))
- "Complete phenol (2.5 mmol/L) degradation by strain Paraburkholderia aromaticivorans AR20-38 was demonstrated at 0-30 °C, amounts up to 7.5 mmol/L phenol were fully degraded at 10-30 °C. These results are useful to better understand the effect of changing temperatures on microorganisms involved in litter degradation and nutrient turnover in Alpine forest soils."

Reply to Letter to Editor (ar-20-0998): Gout Apathy Leads to Gout Arthropathy.
(PubMed, Arthritis Rheumatol)
- "We contest the presumption by Drs. Kolber and Tan that rheumatologists value surrogate markers over "patient oriented outcomes (like gout flares) in guiding clinical decisions."( A&R LTE by Kolber and Tan) Rheumatologists are fully aware and agree that flares are the central experience of gout, and preventing flares, tophi and joint damage is the major focus of gout management."

Draft Genome Sequence of the Bacterium Paraburkholderia aromaticivorans AR20-38, a Gram-Negative, Cold-Adapted Degrader of Aromatic Compounds.
(PubMed, Microbiol Resour Announc)
- "Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Paraburkholderia aromaticivorans strain AR20-38, a cold-adapted Gram-negative bacterium. It was isolated from Alpine forest soil and can degrade a range of aromatic compounds."

Zr-Labeled AR20.5: A MUC1-Targeting ImmunoPET Probe.
(PubMed, Molecules)
- "In subsequent in vivo experiments in athymic nude mice bearing subcutaneous MUC1-expressing ovarian cancer xenografts, [Zr]Zr-DFO-AR20.5 clearly delineated tumor tissue, producing a tumoral activity concentration of 19.1 ± 6.4 percent injected dose per gram (%ID/g) at 120 h post-injection and a tumor-to-muscle activity concentration ratio of 42.4 ± 10.6 at the same time point. Additional PET imaging experiments in mice bearing orthotopic MUC1-expressing ovarian cancer xenografts likewise demonstrated that [Zr]Zr-DFO-AR20.5 enables the visualization of tumor tissue-including metastatic lesions-with promising tumor-to-background contrast."

Short-term maximal performance, alertness, dietary intake, sleep pattern and mood states of physically active young men before, during and after Ramadan observance.
(PubMed, PLoS One)
- "Ramadan had no-adverse effects on the 5-jump performance, alertness, or mood states in physically active young men. However, the sleep duration was shorter and the sleep quality was improved following compared to during Ramadan. The fractional intake of fat also increased at the expense of carbohydrate during Ramadan, and the protein intake was lower at the beginning of Ramadan than before, at the end of and after Ramadan."

Impact of Autocorrelation in Resting-State Functional Connectivity
(OHBM 2019)
- "...1E shows the bias of standard deviation of sample correlations for BH (left), Q47 (right) and xDF (bottom) for 15 different combinations of ACF types (from white noise to AR20), across different strengths of dependencies (0.2 to 0.9), showing the BH and Q7 estimators greatly overestimate the standard error... In this work, we introduce a method for accounting for the effect of autocorrelation on resting-state functional connectivity. We further identified elements which affect the severity of the autocorrelation. We compare xDF with the existing methods and show using the existing method may result in overestimation of variance."
