Voclosporin vs. Belimumab in Lupus Nephritis: Two-Year Renal Outcomes in a Retrospective Propensity Score-Matched Real-World Cohort (ACR Convergence 2026) - Sep 8, 2026 - Abstract #287; Pres time: Nov 8, 2026; 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM; Location: WB1&2; In Person; "Adults with SLE and glomerular disease receiving voclosporin+MMF+glucocorticoids or belimumab+MMF+glucocorticoids were identified, excluding CKD stage 5 or prior exposure to the comparator agent, rituximab, tacrolimus, or cyclosporine. In this propensity score-matched real-world study, voclosporin-based therapy was associated with approximately twice the hazard of AKI compared with belimumab through 24 months, consistent with the nephrotoxic potential of calcineurin inhibitors. Belimumab-treated patients more often received methylprednisolone, which may reflect a greater need for glucocorticoid intensification, though the reason for treatment cannot be confirmed from coded data. Renal and serologic biomarker trajectories were otherwise similar between regimens."
