An increase in hypercapnic VE after a single dose of tirzepatide was independent of metabolism, since VCO2 was decreased. Chronic tirzepatide increased baseline and hypercapnic VE and HCVR in the settings of weight loss and hypermetabolism with increased utilization of fat."
