The urinary microbiome as a potential biomarker of response to immune checkpoint inhibitors in advanced melanoma (ESDR 2026) - Sep 9, 2026 - Abstract #249; Pres time: Sep 10, 2026; 05:00 PM - 06:00 PM; Location: Hall 2A; "Samples were collected prior to initiation of ipilimumab and nivolumab. UMB-derived parameters (Shannon, presence/absence of Fusobacteriota, relative abundance of Bacteroidota) better predicted survival after ICI therapy (p=.002, p=.018, p<.001) than established biomarkers (BRAF status: p=.700, LDH: p=.634, S100: p=.286). While comparable between MM patients and matched controls, the UMB is associated with BOR and OS within the MM cohort, with reduced baseline diversity linked to unfavorable outcomes and specific taxa associated with favorable outcomes."
