CAN QUANTIFERON CMV® PREDICT THE NEED FOR EXTENDED LETERMOVIR PROPHYLAXIS? (EHA 2026) - May 12, 2026 - Abstract #EHA-2433; PS2242; Pres time: Jun 13, 2026; 06:45 PM - 07:45 PM; Location: Hall A; "Methods We conducted a retrospective analysis of CMV IgG-positive patients undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation who received in vivo T-cell depletion with anti-T-lymphocyte globulin (ATLG) or post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy), along with letermovir prophylaxis for 100 days, prior to the approval of extended prophylaxis...The majority of patients received ATLG compared to PTCy (37 and 6 patients, respectively), alongside graft-versus-host disease prophylaxis with cyclosporine A and antimetabolite (methotrexate with ATG or mycophenolate mofetil with PTCy)...Summary/Conclusion QuantiFERON CMV® has a high positive predictive value for identifying patients with a protective immunity against CMV and can be used as an effective and useful tool in delineating high-risk patients in need of extended letermovir prophylaxis. Accurate determination of true CMV serostatus at diagnosis is essential to define patients at genuine risk of CMV reactivation."
