LOSS OF BAP1 CONFERS RESISTANCE TO FERROPTOSIS AND PROMOTES CHOLANGIOCARCINOMA DEVELOPMENT (AASLD 2024) - Oct 15, 2024 - Abstract #1830; " CCA cell lines and normal cholangiocytes were treated with ferroptosis inducers (RSL3, erastin) followed by assessment of cell viability, cellular and mitochondrial iron levels, and phospholipid peroxidation. Our findings suggest that BAP1 mutational inactivation confers cholangiocyte resistance to ferroptosis thus promoting malignant transformation, and that ferroptosis exerts therapeutic benefits in vivo in CCA."
