New-onset Non-infectious Uveitis in Patients with Axial Spondyloarthritis Treated With Upadacitinib and Monoclonal TNF Inhibitors (ACR Convergence 2026) - Sep 8, 2026 - Abstract #367; Pres time: Nov 8, 2026; 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM; Location: WB1&2; In Person; "Episodes of upadacitinib were exact matched on line of b/tsDMARDs (biologic/targeted synthetic disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs), and propensity score matched on available baseline characteristics based on presence of ICD-10 diagnosis codes in administrative claims data (Table 1) to episodes of comparator mTNFi (adalimumab, certolizumab pegol, golimumab, and infliximab) at a ratio of 1:2 for confounding control. Real-world evidence from this large-scale retrospective cohort study showed similar incidence of non-infectious uveitis after initiation of upadacitinib or mTNFi among patients with axSpA and no prior history of uveitis. The study adjusted for available potential confounders, but residual confounding by other factors may exist. Additional studies are needed to better understand the role of upadacitinib in the management of uveitis including recurrent uveitis."
