INCREASED RISK OF ADENOVIRUS INFECTION IN PATIENTS TREATED WITH BASILIXIMAB-CONTAINING IMMUNOSUPPRESSION FOLLOWING LIVER TRANSPLANTATION (AASLD 2026) - Oct 6, 2026 - Abstract #2684; Pres time: Nov 6, 2026; 01:00 PM - 02:00 PM; Location: Convention Center: Poster Hall, Hall DE; "However, there was a statistically significant increase in adenoviremia of 36% RISP vs. 11% HISP (p = 0.02; n = 4 in RISP treated with cidofovir), yet a decreased use of rituximab for EBV treatment in RISP (3% vs. 17%, p = 0.05). Overall, we demonstrate that the basiliximabcontaining RISP had similar one-year post-LT outcomes to HISP despite decreased tacrolimus exposure. Surprisingly, there was increased risk of adenovirus infection, yet decreased severity of EBV infections requiring rituximab in RISP. Prospective analysis in a larger cohort with longer follow up is needed to determine whether these trends are durable."
