CMV reactivation was observed mainly during the early period following rejection therapy. These findings suggest that the first months after rejection treatment may represent a critical window for CMV surveillance. Combined monitoring with CMV PCR and QuantiFERON-CMV may support risk-adapted CMV monitoring strategies in kidney transplant recipients undergoing intensified immunosuppression."
