Real-world changes in hospitalization rates after elexacaftor/ tezacaftor/ivacaftor initiation in cystic fibrosis: A managed care claims analysis (NACFC 2026) - Sep 9, 2026 - Abstract #670; "Background: Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a chronic, genetic, multisystem disease, frequently leading to complications and hospitalizations. The introduction of elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor demonstrated an association with a reduction in hospitalization events in real world data from Centene's patient population. According to the CF Foundation Patient Registry's 2024 Annual Data Report, approximately 77% of all people with CF were on a CFTR modulator [1]. This represents a 65% increase compared to the number of people treated with a CFTR modulator prior to elexacaftor/tezacaftor/ivacaftor's approval, reinforcing its clinical and economic value as an effective therapy in improving patient outcomes."
